Re: FIRST and Cooler Master
You guys should think about doing a Q&A/AMA on one of the FIRST Webcast shows like Frank did the other day, it might be a great opportunity to answer people's questions and get suggestions on ways...

Re: Ontario Moving to District Model in 2017
I don't think anyone's arguing that District registration fees aren't a better value than regionals, just that in the particular case of Ontario the total cost for initial registration will be higher...

Re: Online Payments
I setup a PayPal payment system as an option for other teams to pay registration costs for the off-season event we host every year. It works pretty good and the fee to use it is pretty low. It also...

Re: Ontario Moving to District Model in 2017
Basically this, Gail has been prodding us for a few years now to host a second district and/or find another suitable venue for an additional district competition in our area because of the lack of...

Re: Camcorder at driver's station
Basically this.
While not a camcorder, we've had our drivers wear GoPros on several occasions (and have seen many other teams do this as well) and never been approached about it. Perhaps the head...

Re: Do Non-School Teams Have An Advantage?
Quite the contrary, I would say it's much easier to be affiliated with a school than not. While our team is part of a school, the school isn't a traditional high school but a center for half-day...

Re: Corded vs Cordless Power Tools
We use battery powered Dewalt drills, but since we only have like 3 batteries and 1 charger (that works, anyways) I make sure we always bring the old corded drill we have with us to events. It's...

Re: [FRC Blog] Radio Silence
Don't get me wrong, having a live feed is extremely useful, but if you had the choice of possibly spotty camera connectivity / low fps but near-perfect control connectivity, or a single connection...

Re: [FRC Blog] Radio Silence
So much this. The only real benefit to using WiFi instead of Serial over 900Mhz is the ability to have live video feedback to the driver station, actual command signals take far less...

Re: Off season T-Shirt Launching Tank Robot
The smaller tank was the one I was interested in because of the large output port, almost every other tank I've found has much smaller (1/8" typically) ports which makes adapting to a 1" sprinkler...

Re: Preferred Scoring Element
Can't speak for FTC/VEX, but imo some of the best FRC games have been games where there were a LOT of balls on the field AND no limit to how many a robot could hold at one time (see 2006, 2009, etc)....

Re: Most underrated/undervalued tools
They actually make these, at least the metric (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/t_10153_12605?tName=metric-adjustable-wrenches.html) part.
Not sure if it's underrated, but you definately don't fully...

Re: HEX broach too big for our manual press
This.
Cutting a broach is a good way to throw away $200.
If the broach is only a little larger than the press, you might find that if you slot the broach into the hole of the part you want to...

Re: Vex Shift Rod through 3/8 Hex Shaft?
Are you referring to a ball shifter, dog gear shifter, or something else?
If it's a Ball shifter I would think probably not since the plunger inside the shifting shaft would likely be too big to...
