Re: roboRIO usb
Quite true. That is the number they list. However, that *is* in excess of the USB 2.0 spec. That number is in line with the USB 3.0 spec, but the port on the RoboRIO isn't listed as a USB 3.x...

Re: roboRIO usb
We've done it. It works fine as long as you don't try to pull too much current from the RoboRIO. 500ma is the max draw on USB 2.0. So, if you're trying to power 3 cameras, for example, you'll...

Re: roboRIO mDNS Problem
In order for Linux to connect with the RoboRIO via the mdns address, you'll need to have the Avahi service running. That's Linux's mdns resolver.

Re: Cameras allowed on the robot
Naturally, you can still use the Axis IP cameras from previous years. However, if you want to use a USB camera, you need to make sure that the camera is Linux UVC compatible. This means just about...

Re: You can't break it, they said. Try, they said.
Hmm... OK, assuming you can get to a mode where port 22 works, log in via ssh (e.g., putty on WinDoze) as "admin" with no password. Once you're in, issue the command "dmesg" and capture the output. ...

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're asking here. The code is available from the link listed earlier in this thread.
You can see a picture of how it was connected at...

Re: Using the TI LaunchPad from your KoP
Personal time during build season? What's that? ;-). But, I will cruise over to the link and have a look. In the mean time, I'm trying to find info on the HID output features. Not much available...

Re: Using the TI LaunchPad from your KoP
We've already got a couple more on order from the TI store. We're looking forward to getting some cool controls whipped up as soon as the build team figures out what we're controlling.

Re: PSoC 4 Prototyping Kit, product documentation
Yeah, I saw that the Launchpad can be used for I/O. But, it's not clear if the Leonardo and the PSoC can be used for anything except the "I". There's no mention of the "O" part in any documentation...

Re: PSoC 4 Prototyping Kit, product documentation
OK, thanks for the pointer to the docs. Now, other than using it like an Arduino on the bot, is there a way to use it on the driver station ala the enhanced I/O that we used to have with the PSoC...

Re: PSoC 4 Prototyping Kit
Here at 116, we're interested in this as well. We used the previous Cypress boards every year for Digital outputs to light indicators when certain sensors had triggered. We're really interested at...

Re: Using the TI LaunchPad from your KoP
Here at FRC 116, we implement custom OI controls for each of our robots over the past several years. We find that it's more effective to have a dedicated switch labeled "Deploy" than it is to try to...

Re: Working with the roborio after kickoff.
The attached presentation talks about the imaging for the RoboRIO that the beta teams had to do. Of course, they may have smoothed things out for kickoff. But, if you run into any questions, you...

Experimentally, we've seen a bit lower than that. However, you're best to stay with the docs and remember that YMMV.

Hmm... OK, let me see what I can answer... The Talon SRX is meant to provide all of the services from the CANJaguar class in WPILib. Therefore, you can close the loop on speed, current, position,...

SPI bus working on the RoboRIO!
Greetings Everyone!
We can now say that we have the SPI interface working on the RoboRIO. We used the Sparkfun ADXL345 board as our test subject so folks could compare the I2C code for this part...

I2C working on RoboRIO
Today's effort was trying to get the I2C working on the RoboRIO. Evidently, the on-board I2C port is /dev/i2c-2 (that's the 3rd port of 3). We wanted to get a generic example of I2C code that could...

Re: WindRiver gone for 2015?
FWIW, C++ works well on the RoboRIO. There are copies of the WPILib for Linux and OS/X. There are also toolchains available from FIRST that are compatible w/ the RoboRIO and run on either Linux or...
