Re: NI roboRIO
Yes, as Greg indicates, we're using two wires that we twisted together (they were our only source of yellow and green colored wires to match the coloring of the connectors ;-). So far, everything is...

Re: Sources for new WPILib available yet?
I'm looking at the code in the link and I see are terms like SEM_Q_PRIORITY and VX_FP_TASK that are very VxWorks specific. That, and the total lack of anything with "inux" in it, make me believe...

Re: Sources for new WPILib available yet?
If this were Windows or OS/X, then you'd be correct. Most of the libraries are closed. But, the WPILib is licensed under the BSD license and is therefore considered open source. Additionally, must...

Re: Sources for new WPILib available yet?
Unfortunately, all of this stuff appears to be for VxWorks and not for Linux. Many of the directories still have VxWorks build artifacts in them. So, it was interesting to take a look. However,...

Re: Sources for new WPILib available yet?
OK, I've applied for the Beta. Thanks for the link.
I've been using Eclipse for embedded Linux work on ARM architectures since 2006 and I helped develop some of the VxWorks operating system-level...

Re: Sources for new WPILib available yet?
Actually, I'm not interested in backwards compatibility. As a guy who does embedded Linux for a living, I'm more interested in seeing the implementation to see what needs to be changed to make it...

Sources for new WPILib available yet?
Hi Gang,
Is there a copy of the 2015 WPILib available for download yet?
If not, does anyone know when the library sources will be available?
TIA,
Mike

Re: WindRiver gone for 2015?
FWIW, I've had very good success runing 'bots with RobotOpen and a Sasquatch board. It works like a champ and allows my Arduino-aware developers to write some cool code. The layout concept of the...

Re: WindRiver gone for 2015?
It was disappointing to hear that WRS is dropping its support of FIRST. They do have a version of their development environment that runs on Linux that would work fine for the cRio.
By issuing a...

Re: Alternatives to the Cypress IO
The Cypress board has been discontinued by Cypress Semiconconductor. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a follow-on device for output. But, there are lots of alternatives for inputs...

Don't be afraid of threads. They are a very basic mechanism in any real-time or embedded code development. I know Dave Wilner personally and was involved in the periphery of the Pathfinder problem....

Re: C++ Code is not detected by the robot
Watch the robot start up in the netconsole. You may be seeing the infamous 24-bit relocation problem. If you see something about 24-bit relocation in the netconsole, recompile your code with the...

Re: Compressor issue
Ours compressor is working fine with the (14,1) parameters. Make sure that your relay cable is wired correctly. We had a problem with the signal and ground wire being reversed.

Re: Cannot Deploy - "No Robot Code"
Yes, you'll need to add the -mlong_call build option. There's a weirdness in the PPC architecture relating to the branch local (bl) instruction that dates back to the early 1990s. The bl...
