Re: Rethinking the Low bar
Yes but I believe the static case for that occurring and the dynamic case are different. When stationary we could pull our robot back to quite a degree without it tipping over but when we attempted...

Re: Rethinking the Low bar
Actually, a low COM is not the only key to not flipping over. As crazy as it may sound, our originally tall robot (1 inch shy of max height) that we had in Palmetto could tip over crossing defenses...

Re: Students ordering parts
Do you have this automated at all or in a custom application or is it just a series of emails/spreadsheets? I'm not judging either way but I would like to know more about it. We struggle with parts...

Re: Pointcloud PCD of Stronghold Tower?
This is really cool stuff! I wish I could help with getting the data you need but I'm just thrilled to hear of another team working on SLAM. I hope you get some recognition for it at a competition...

Re: NVIDIA Jetson TX1
Wow... I'm impressed. We've had nothing but issues with everything we've tried, except the capacitor.

Re: NVIDIA Jetson TX1
Shockingly (Get it? Pun intended) it cleared inspection by multiple inspectors. I'm not sure what the "COTS exemption" is but the circuit works and is very safe. It is held securely inside of a...

Re: Not allowed to do anything on team
If you feel like you can't talk to one of the mentors directly then this is an option. Just ask your parent(s) to keep in mind that most mentors are volunteering their time and to be respectful. I...

Re: Stronghold Tower field fault
I don't view this in that way. I think this is more like our shot into the goal from 2014 when we were up close. The ball would go flying off the field (THANK YOU TO ANY VOLUNTEERS WHO HAD TO CATCH...

Re: Cheesecake robot. How far is too far?
I appreciate the response and I think I have a better understanding of where you are coming from now.
Ultimately I don't view this as a grey area or a zero-sum situation but that is me. I think the...

We've been doing the same as you actually. It seems to be working out for us for the moment but we'll see.

Yes.
Sean, at the risk of causing you to go into a rage (and I hope you don't because you seem like a nice fella)... I don't understand your analysis of the problem. Alliance selections work in...

Re: Cheesecake robot. How far is too far?
Sorry to correct but 1923 was the third robot (1114 and 148 being the first two) and they were out playing. The loss on Einstein had little to do with our (900's) cheesecaking.
