Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Robotics Competition Chief Volunteer Coordinators

I hope Jessica got one hell of a severance package. :)

Re: Connection Problems

I'm going to guess your school is doing something similar to what our school does. We cannot run our robots wirelessly at our school because the school blocks "rogue" access points (Wireless access...

Re: FRC Blog - So Much Information

Hey look, NC is in the news for something other than bathrooms for a change. ;)

Awesome work by both of those teams!

Re: Acquiring a 3D Printer?

Ouch. I saw their printers at Maker Faire NYC a couple years ago. Good but not great is how I would describe them.

Re: [FRC Blog] Stop Build Day Survey Results

Ohh, I get it, the NASA method. Build the robot, put it in the rocket, fire it off to another planet, and then work on coding a close facsimile before it lands.

Meh. Build season is a myth! Pop the...

Re: Acquiring a 3D Printer?

We had one of the ecocycles from the FIRST Choice grant a couple years ago. It was an ok printer but a bit limited.

We are now the proud owners of a Fusion3 F400-S. They are fairly local and gave...

Re: What did you vote for in the stop-build day survey?

Crap! Is it too late to change my vote? Wait, where do we stand on being sponsored by pina colada companies?

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

Kinda cherry picking with the quote but this will definitely create two different classifications for teams. I'm torn on the idea of different classes for teams within FRC... part of me thinks it...

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

I have to disagree that every team has dealt with this. We've been doing yearly FRC workshops in NC for a while now. One of the perennial topics among mentors is always build season schedules. ...

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

I have in fact. I have taken over ten years to consider my own perspective on the inevitable death of stop build day. I think Jim's paper does a great job of explaining all of the ways the system...

Re: What did you vote for in the stop-build day survey?

I voted to keep Stop Build Day but only for students. Mentors get to keep working on the robot.

Re: [FRC Blog] Stop Build Day Survey Results

Fair point. It's still a surprising number to me. I'm glad they asked the question and we know the results.

Re: [FRC Blog] Stop Build Day Survey Results

This is at the top of the report:

So a majority of responding teams (2,196) build more than one robot...

Re: [FRC Blog] Stop Build Day Survey Results

Well... the results are definitely interesting.

I'm not a statistics wizard by any measurement so I'll leave others to nitpick the results. I would love to see the data broken down by team...

Re: Eliminating "Start Build Day"

Wrong.

And with that, I'm out of this thread. I still think you're trolling with this. If you had wanted a reasoned discussion then why not frame it as "Is the FRC calendar optimized for...

Re: Discussion: Release Team Field Drawings Early

#TSIMFD

Would love an early released cut list for lumber or even just a timely cut list for lumber.

I'm pretty convinced you're trolling with this and I say that because you ask the following questions which are obviously slanted in one direction:

It's hardly the only date that's been talked...

Re: NC FRC Workshops - November 5th, 2016 - Durham, NC

The official date for these is being changed to December 17th based on popular demand. If there is a mod that can change the initial post and title to reflect that then I'd be appreciative.

Got a part number or link to them? I haven't seen those before but they look intriguing.
