Re: Attendance Tracking

This is what we use:

https://github.com/FRC900/timesheet

Other teams are using it as well. It's been a great system for us. It allows students to sign in and out using a barcode scanner attached...

Re: [FRC Blog] Control System Update

I agree that additional rules are not likely needed at this time but there is a real concern that some manufacturers won't support specific languages down the road if this is being pushed out to 3rd...

Re: [FRC Blog] Control System Update

I think it is probably a good change given that we've seen it take quite a while to get new features into WPILib from when a manufacturer introduces them. As a LabVIEW beta team, it always seem to...

Re: Suggestions for a team trailer?

Also relevant in this discussion is weight ratings and tongue weight.

Useful page with some acronyms and definitions:

I suspect that one of the issues...

Re: Suggestions for a team trailer?

3500 tow capacity is likely going to limit you to a single axle trailer. Your best bet is to go to a trailer dealer in your area and have some conversations with them about what you are trying to...

Re: FRC code search: a great project for someone to start

More serious suggestion would be to enable teams to link to GitHub projects for specific robots on TBA. That should provide 80% functionality for 20% of the effort and I'm pretty sure it would work...

Re: The Triple Helix Mobile, making it loud

Obviously both. Haven't you heard of the Matt Lythgoe Foundation? They get other people to donate to it and then pay for things like Rumble in the Roads and vinyl wraps.

Re: The Triple Helix Mobile, making it loud

Very entertaining!

How trashy would it look to wrap an AMG in zebra stripes?

They probably looked a little like this after rebooting the server:

Just guessing though... ;)

Re: NC FRC Workshops - November 5th, 2016 - Durham, NC

Re: NC FRC Workshops - November 5th, 2016 - Durham, NC

Bumping this back up in hopes that some NC teams (and others too!) notice it. Will have Marie send out another email for this as well. Trying to get responses for planning and we need more speakers!

Re: [FRC Blog] Event Registrations, Behind the Lines, and Drive Base Opt-Out

I feel like it doesn't carry the same weight as will.i.am.'s version. I think we all know what Frank meant though. ;)

Re: Sponsor can we morally seek sponsorship from a brewery

Local micro-breweries won't have this. Some possible alternatives though:

-Drop "Brewery" or "Distillery" after the name and just provide the name of the company on shirts or whatever.
-Ask to put...

Re: paper: The HERO for FRC

Wiring is dead simple, it's 12V and CAN. I don't have a diagram but maybe I can bribe a student into making one. It really isn't hard though.

The breakouts were used to attach the encoders on the...

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Robotics Competition Registration Update

I like that they are splitting district and regional registration.

I also like that they are finally moving to a preference based system in 2018.

Maybe we can get rid of bags in 2018 too. ;)

Re: paper: The HERO for FRC

The HERO does provide PWM outputs but it's not something we've tested. If you go that route though, you'll need to breakout the 10pin .05" headers to PWM connections.

Something like this should...

Re: paper: The HERO for FRC

Thanks! We have been trying to get out there for teams exactly for that reason. It's a great choice for that... at least it was for us.

It's cheaper.

We're happy to answer questions about our experiences using the HERO from CTRE! It's been a great project to work on for us and we're thrilled to have had CTRE sponsor our work on this.
