Re: FRC Robots Aren't Real Robots?

Can confirm. Work in IT. Spend lots of time with manufacturing companies, hospitals, energy companies, and more. Engineers do not agree on anything.

Re: Controller help with the HERO?

Yeah, PS4 controllers don't show up as standard HID controllers that I'm aware of... maybe there is a way to do it but I haven't found it.

The HERO's libraries need standard HID devices (like ATM...

Your team has a cave?!?!? OMG, how did you guys get that?!?! Do you have a cave sponsor? We tried talking to cave sponsors but none of them responded. You guys must be an elite team to have a...

Re: Is FIRST about Robot?

As a team that is routinely faced with the task of integrating FRC students who come from other FRC teams we have to deal with a lot of "my old team did it this way" or "my old team didn't do XYZ". ...

Re: LIDAR Lite Alternative

In theory, this thing is legal (I can't confirm because I don't know if it is Class 1 or Class 1M though):

It's just outside of the price range for FRC but I suspect a...

Re: pic: MVRE-109, high-recision shafted encoder

Now this is cool! What kind of testing have you done on these to ensure robustness in FRC-type applications?

Re: Uses of Lexan

We use Lexan for a lot of different parts on our bots. Good stuff. For structural components you need to ensure that they are thick enough or rigid enough for the application, which can add weight.

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

I think it comes down to a very fundamental difference. You see it as a top tier team taking advantage of a lower tier team. I don't. I see it as two teams collaborating on a set of goals and a...

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build
