Re: BlackJaguar-99.bin issues

Not quite sure what you mean here. Joe and I do not write the TI firmware we are only trying to help support it.

What is the color of the 2CAN led with only one Jag on the BUS? Do you have the...

Re: BlackJaguar-99.bin issues

Ah it's in the FAQ, something I do not read anymore, TI should probably put this in the user manual under jumper configurations.

Re: BlackJaguar-99.bin issues

If by Automatic Ramp you mean a voltage ramp, the firmware has always supported this for use with CAN. If you wish to leverage this feature over PWM I am not aware of a version of the firmware that...

Re: CANJaguar timeout on cRIO startup

CAN timeout errors are usually caused by poor CAN connectivity. Connecting the 2CAN to an Ethernet port on the radio vs. the cRIO does not cause CAN timeouts. Connect the 2CAN to the radio it should...

Re: Jaguars not passing CAN communications

The 2CAN LED will tell you if you have good CAN connectivity and whether or not you are communicating with the plugin on the crio (Ethernet connectivity). The web dash will show information on each...

Re: BlackJaguar-99.bin issues

Check your cabling and termination resistors, if the cable loses connection at all during the bootloading process the Jaguar will remain in bootloader appearing "bricked". If you are not confidant...

Re: Powering the 2CAN 2.0

The 2CAN must be powered by one of the 12volt breakers, 20 amp is fine. The 2CAN will operate at up to 24 volts but connecting to the 24 volt supply is not legal.

Re: Jaguars not passing CAN communications

Do you have access to a 2CAN? If you do you may use it to help diagnose the problem. An o-scope will not tell you much unless you know how CAN operates, the 2CAN however can diagnose if your CAN...

Re: New to 2CAN and Jaguar

Correct, those function calls are only necessary if you want to use the closed loop modes or request encoder/potentiometer position.

Re: 2CAN 2.0

The documentation has not been updated to reflect using only a single port.

However using the method described to connect to port one will work fine. Just make sure the IP is on the same subnet...

Re: New to 2CAN and Jaguar

A couple observations:

It appears that at this point all you want to do is control your Jags using voltage control mode, this is the mode that provides the same functionality as pwm and is the...

Re: New to 2CAN and Jaguar

The 2CAN acts as a gateway to CAN the cRIO simply passes the CAN frame over UDP, the 2CAN has no other interaction with the CRIO.

What you see in the web dash is the result of interactions between...

I just flashed a 2012 Black Jag with version 100 bin. It took two attempts however. The first time I tried, the 2CAN status LED was RED indication an issue on the CAN side. The web dash confirmed...

Re: BlackJaguar-99.bin issues

The Jags is most likely just stuck in boot loader and not "Bricked". Try re-downloading the BIN and make sure the BIN is for the correct version of the Jag (black or gray). If you try and load gray...

Re: Jaguar Slow Blinking Red Light.

The red blinking LED is indicating a fault, since polarity as reversed to the Jag any number of components may have blown. Most likely the body diodes on the H-bridge FET's. The fact that the LED...

Re: Battery Beak

Yes, surface charge is weaker than deep charge. This behavior causes a small increase in internal resistance as measured by the Beak. This increase, if the battery's internal resistance is within...
