Re: Wiring LEDs into the control system/motor controllers

First up it is illegal to run something such as LED's in parallel from the Motor Controller Output. Even if it wasn't they wouldn't light up at all when Motor isn't being drive and would be very dim...

Re: 1.9" Omni Wheels

If you want a 1.9" or 48mm Omni-wheel I recommend these: http://www.rotacaster.com.au/shop/48mm-doubles---r2/index

There are several Durometers available each with their own strength ratings. The...

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???

Definitely not enough meat in the center to be able broach out to 1/2inch hex. The holes on the 16mm bolt circle would also clash with the points of the shaft.

Surely if you need to adapt it to use...

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???

Looks like it is the FTC bolt pattern so probably 6mm round or D bore with 6-32 bolts on a 16mm bolt circle. Most likely compatible with the new AM Nubs:...

Re: pic: Tornades's Custom West Coast Drivetrain

When posting an email address, try and break up the address to make it harder for it to be picked up by a bot. Or just send via PM.

Re: [FRC Blog] 2017 Motor (and Servo?) Controllers and MXP

There are some really powerful Brushless Servos with steel/titanium gears out in the RC marketplace so this sounds like an awesome addition to the electrical components that FRC teams have available...

Re: pic: FRC 2869 - 2016 Offseason bot

From looking back at previous posts I believe they had problems with the cantilevering of the CIM+what looks to be a 2-3 stage VersaPlanetary from a plastic clamping gearbox. When going over defenses...

Re: Milwaukee M18 vs Dewalt 20V

Another thing to look at is what brand hire companies have. The majority of tool hire companies in Australia have Makita( trade/professional line) and Bosch Blue( again the trade/professional) for...

Re: LOGO search...

A search through: https://www.thebluealliance.com/ would be a good way to check if there are teams already with the same names. The logo will most likely correlate to the name that you select, so...

Re: Pelican (or other) Case for Flying with Robot

FYI the Cargo holding areas in most large passenger aircraft are the same pressure as the cabin. But it's always a good idea to put something fragile and expensive like a laptop in your Carry on.

Re: Where to purchase wire?

Silicon wire AKA Wet Noodle wire, tends to be a bit harder to strip then typical low strand count wire such as Zipwire which utilises PVC insulation. The reason that it is difficult is that unlike...

Re: Legality of purchasing Planetary Gearboxes from alternative sources.

This is what is stated on the website for PG27 with 9015:

The description implies otherwise.

I'm not really sure if the Dyno testing results are correct( or maybe they are the 775-125 results),...

Re: Legality of purchasing Planetary Gearboxes from alternative sources.

For teams wanting to do this or something similiar, make sure you only use the low-power RS775-125 that Andymark sells. If you try to hook up a 775pro or 775-18 it is not going to end well for you....

Re: Custom Gears to Fit with Tetrix Gears

Something to think about is the bore that you want. I'd say that the reason 20t gears aren't available from tetrix is that the typical FTC bolt pattern wouldn't be able to fit onto the gear as a 20t...

Re: [FRC Blog] 2017 International Game Piece Option

Access to plenty of gamepieces early in the build season really does make a difference for teams. In 2015 it was difficult to design a robot to build multiple 6 stacks when we didn’t actually...

Re: Acquiring a 3D Printer?

Our school has a few Formlabs SLA printers (1 and 1+). They can produce very good parts, but there is a fair bit of upkeep that is required. I haven’t used them for robot parts, but I have used...
