Re: pic: Team 865 - Tachyon
We ran into a lot of kinks at Waterloo but this was one of our better matches http://watchfirstnow.com/archives/122868691
We also tried out human loading in this match...

Re: Ramps
We did some testing at GTR-C with a tethered ramp. Thin aircraft cable was less prone to getting caught in our wheels than 3/16 nylon rope. We made a ramp from pink panther insulation foam, it was...

We were originally going to have the CIM mount plate waterjet cut where ON/OFF cycles are a big factor of machine wear. While we ended up laser cutting them we decided against a lightening pattern...

Re: Where do YOU practice driving?
Last year we used a carpeted church basement to practice everyday during march break. This year were using the staff lounge, lucky for us the carpet is covered in so many coffee stains that the...

We never really got that far, we were mostly just curious on how it all worked. The commissions are quite low overall, and at our turnover it was much much more profitable to sell it out of a mini...

Re: Mecanum drive on Einstein
I think the issues with weight balance and integration (due to extra gearboxes) don't pose well for high ranking "do everything" robots. That's not to say it is impossible but I think many top tier...
