Re: Interesting/Cool Scaling Mechanism Designs

2386 nearly went with using gas shocks too. They have the advantage of still pulling the robot up even once the buzzer goes. Effectively giving you another 5 seconds to the match.

Re: Rick Mercer in Oshawa

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. I saw him going around at GTRE which was great to see. The coverage and the light that they portrayed FIRST in I thought was fantastic!

Re: 2386 Bench Grinder

Why do you say this climb is illegal? There are no bumpers on the bot in that video. The way our bumper are mounted this is a legal climb in terms of the bumpers being above the low goal. Is there...

Re: 2386 Bench Grinder

Photoshopped? We'd never do such a thing :D. We're merely testing our new anti gravity code the programmers whipped up.

This was just our team having some fun and jumping on board with some of the...

2386 Bench Grinder

2386 would like to present to you our new bench grinder (http://imgur.com/gallery/5FEXSxx). We're hoping this might help to give us a competitive edge at Windsor this next weekend.

The link above...

Re: Scaling Club

2386 scales. We had some issues at palmetto with our climber and are working out the bugs for our time in windsor.

Match footage of us climbing in match 57...

Re: Retraction issues, because we're lazy.

We used a similar system at palmetto thus year. We used the guts of a cordless drill and connected our arm pivot motor to it (variable speed trigger on the drill). During one of our Elim matches, we...

Re: Your tall opaque robot is now illegal

Has anyone submitted a Q&A asking the other half of the original question? Something along the lines of,

If I have a mechanism on my robot with the sole intent to block boulders being shot into the...

Re: Your tall opaque robot is now illegal

This is my interpretation aswell. As long as it is clear that you are using your mechanism to block boulders being shot, and not to interfere with vision/sensing abilities, than your robot should be...

Re: Conveying along chain

We used home made versions of what you linked above on our bot last year to lift the totes. It worked alright but wasn't great. The issue we found with them is if we jammed our mechanism, it would...

Re: pic: Team 16, The Bomb Squad's Climb

We run a very similar climb to 16's and they have done a legal climb here. They hoist themselves up with the arm on a 90 (ish) degree angle. After they've reached the top they pivot the chassis to...

Re: Greater Toronto East Regional (2016)

My understanding was that they were having troubles throughout the regional getting the timing right on their grappling hook. I saw them working on it in the pit often (really cool setup in their pit...

Re: Team 3230 PrototypeX 2016 Robot

Have you ensured that climb is legal? In the video it appears you're exceeding your 15 in perimeter protrusion limit.

Re: What Type of Connector is this?

Looked it up and that appears to be the cable I have infront of me. Thanks for the help!

It is a MKS Base V1.3 board used for xyz coordinate systems (such as the 3d printer it is controlling).

I working on getting one of our 3d printers back up and running but have run into a snag. I seem to be short on of the motor cables and need to get a replacement. Is anyone here able to identify this...

Re: G43 enforcement level

I too tried to keep an eye on the G43 calls at GTRE while I was there saturday and agree that the refs appeared to be pretty on the ball when it came to making those calls.

Re: Pixy Camera and FRC Vision Processing

Tracking of the goals might be possible with the pics if you're using something like the green led ring around it. However tracking of the boulders I don't think would work. Pixy is meant to track...
