Re: Palmetto Regional Week 0.5

Do we know yet if teams will be able to do pit setup on the Wednesday night during load in? Or will we have to wait until the Thursday like previous years?

Re: GRIP Co-processor bandwidth usage

It sounds like op is asking if sending information from their co-processor will take up bandwidth to the same extent sending your video stream to the driver station would. We all know that sending a ...

Re: FIRST Vendors - extra BOULDERS

Using last years game as reference is exactly why we decided to opt for this. The totes we got in the kit last year compared to the ones we had a local company make (to save time on shipping and...

Re: Alternative to DART actuators?

A hydro works linear actuator (model 8489098) is what we are looking at using this year. After opening it up the motor supplied it almost identical to a bag in sizing. The bolt holes are slightly...

Re: FIRST Vendors - extra BOULDERS

2386 opted for this and received 1 extra ball. We were extremely disappointed with this. We gave up 180 points in first choice this year to receive a ball that is worth 50 points in first choice...

Re: Co processor Question

How would you go about communicating with this? There is no ethernet port on it, only Bluetooth and wifi both of which are illegal to use in competition.

Re: NavX MXP Accuracy

When you say reletive to the field, are you referring to heading, your xy coordinates, or both? If it is just your heading I would think you'd be ok, however if you're trying to us the navX to track...

Re: One week in, what are you doing?

Has anyone found a loophole around having to only use those Kop wheels on the regolith?

Re: Anyone thinking about using a raspberry pi with a webcam for visibility in the pi

By visibility in the pit, do you mean in the driverstation/castle?

If that is what you meant, why not just use an axis camera and stream it directly to the dashboard? Or use the usb ports on the...

Re: We are going to Want a GRIP fourm

That will be a tough thing to find right now as GRIP is new for this season. I am unaware of any public code releases using it at the moment.

Re: Immobile 200+ pts solo robot concept

The biggest issue I see now (assuming you follow along with the suggestions/updates throughout the thread) is that you would still be susceptible to defense. What stops another team from coming and...

Re: Immobile 200+ pts solo robot concept

In order to get around G21, you might be able to have a robot that sits in the courtyard and has an intake hovering over the outputs of the human player station. Now you would just have to find a way...

Re: Immobile 200+ pts solo robot concept

How would you solve against G21?

All your opponent would have to do is touch you while trying to get a ball from their human player station and you would get a technical foul.

You can only have...

Re: We are going to Want a GRIP fourm

Seconded. Absolutely love the simplicity of the program thus far and am certain that a sub forum for either solely GRIP, or a general one for vision processing would be of great use to many teams.

Does anyone know if these will be made available to international teams? Specifically Canada? I went on amazon and their only offering shipping to the states at the moment.

Re: New AndyMark products 2016

If you hadn't seen it yet, some new products have been released. A whole slew of new wheels, and also some slick bumper material.

Re: New AndyMark products 2016

Those plates on that (presuming) chassis look huge (1/4"?) If andymark is designing a Kop chassis so heavy, could this be the year our weight limit is increased? Or perhaps the game relies so heavily...

Also, when can we expect the new 775's to be in stock?

Re: Microsoft HoloLens: FIRST Robotics Simulator

I wasn"t trying to imply that it was overpriced. I actually agree that the price is relatively reasonable. I was more trying to get at the fact that this would not be a viable option for many teams...

Re: Microsoft HoloLens: FIRST Robotics Simulator

Given speculation of what the price will be at launch time ($500+) is this really a viable option for teams? You would need at least 2 to make it really useful. 2 drivers (add in a coach and HP if...

Re: HSM Express+Tormach undersized holes

Is the 1/2in cutter you're using actually 1/2in? Do a quick check to make sure the cutter is worn or just undersize with a pair of calipers.
