Re: 2015 STEMley Cup Championship

Had a great time at the stemley cup. I'll admit, myself and a few others on my team were concerned how the experience would be giving such a small venue compared to where we normally compete (such as...

Re: Autodesk Synthesis - FRC Game Simulator

Obviously with autodesk being the creator of the software this is going to revolve around autodesk products, however will there be support for importing from other cad software such as solidworks?...

Re: 2015 STEMley Cup Championship

Absolutely love the cards. Do we have prices for a full deck yet? Or will we have to wait and see at the competition?

Re: New Products for 2016: Speculation, Wants

It wouldn't be a new product per say but I'd love to see vexpro start carrying the navx board. For canadian teams it's a lot cheap ordering from vex due to shipping and the currency exchange.

Who's doing early pit setup?

After yesterdays FRC blog post, a few people have mentioned that certain regionals will be heavily considering early pit setup as an option. So my question is what events are going to be trying to do...

Re: The First Build Season

I've been on my team for the past 4 years and this year (5th) will be my first mentoring. One of the biggest things I tell our rookies is that no matter how small and useless their task may seem, it...

Re: fall fiesta? stemly cup? southwest?

2386 is attending STEMley and can't wait. It will be an opportunity for us to use labview in a competition environment (2016 season will be our first year using it) and give our new drivers a chance...

Re: FRC Simulator Features Ideas

I realize you have already said that multilayer is not a priority at all at the moment, however if you were to develop some for of multilayer aspect, it would be cool if you could incorporate LAN...

Re: pic: Octocanum Module

I only just noticed this after you pointed it out. I too am interested on what people think about this. On one hand there are so many constraints on the shaft from the meshing gears that it may be...

Re: pic: Octocanum Module

How do you plan to actuate it? 2 pistons? 4? And as zinthorne asked, how do you plan to mount the pistons from the chassis to the modules?

Re: pic: Concept Swerve design

Is this necessary? With an omni directional drive, you should be able to just strafe away from your opponent. This just sounds like added complexity and weight.

Re: pic: CGX-104 cycloidal versaplanetary external

Another advantage to this over a vp to consider is that at the moment, from looking at the renders available, this might be machinable by a team with some cnc access. Whereas a vp is something you...

Re: pic: CGX-104 cycloidal versaplanetary external

I love the compact design. Perhaps designing a small coupler that goes from a versa planetary to this would be something people would find useful. Hope to see some CAD files soon.

Re: New Team Needs Old Parts!

The old power drills actually aren't a bad idea. For the past 2 years at least (could be more) 2386 has used the gearboxes off cheap cordless drills combined with a 775 or similar motor. They make...
