Re: WCP: 2017 Product Launch + MCC 2017

Posting renders has been a "staple" of new products that haven't been fully launched yet. I don't know of any serious supplier that doesn't provide photos once they have the product in their hands.

Re: WCP: 2017 Product Launch + MCC 2017

Some of the products pictures only show CAD models. Do you have pictures/videos of the prototypes that can be posted?

Re: Is the international branching of FRC, a good thing?

Purely for historical context, FIRST was started as U.S. FIRST (and I believe that may still be their name in some legal contexts). That's why until the recent (and much maligned) switch to the new...

Re: Championship Conferences - Who Goes?

Here's a link to the YouTube playlist of the conferences from the 2016 Championship. You can get a feel for the sizes of rooms used and how full they were (it obviously varies by presentation topic)....

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???

Oh, I agree. But these aren't zeroes beyond the decimal point. The zeroes in "9000" could be significant, or they could be placeholders for the proper unit value. However, the zeroes in "9001" are...

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???

My only comment with the "9001" rating is that carrying things to that amount of significant figures implies strong confidence in that specific number. While I certainly get the "over 9000" meme,...

Re: Launching FIRST Help Now

Yes, but couldn't the same result be achieved with a "24/7 response team" or similar that monitors Chief Delphi? I'm just confused as to what the added benefit to the community is when these...

Re: Launching FIRST Help Now

What steps will you be taking to differentiate this service from simply asking a question on Chief Delphi?

Much lower durometer than Colson wheels, but not as compliant as the teardrop rollers from McMaster. Prices range from $2.50-$5.00ea (not counting...

Re: Max Age for FRC Participants?

I imagine there's a point of diminishing returns here.

Re: Inter-District Play in 2017

I was more referring to the various posts in this thread regardless in-event strategy. Specifically the posts saying teams considered not picking Michigan teams or strategizing so that Michigan teams...

Re: Inter-District Play in 2017

The bolded phrase is the key phrase.

Obviously you always want your team to perform well. But that doesn't change when you're facing a Michigan team or an Indiana team. You want to win the matches...

Re: Max Age for FRC Participants?

The internal structure of your team is up to you. I know there are some teams that draw distinctions between "junior mentors" and "senior mentors," with the former consisting of college students and...

Re: Inter-District Play in 2017

Can someone explain the logic behind employing a different strategy against an out-of-district team? Assuming your goal is to maximize your team's place in your district's standings, you want the...

Re: PCH 2017

As someone who has never participated in a venue selection committee, is that actually a rule from FIRST, or something that simply slipped past without anyone actually considering its impact?

Re: pic: 4908 Prototype West Coast Drive

Why the 3CIM, dual speed transmissions? Are you simply using it as a "worst case scenario" placeholder in this design, as it occupies more space and weight than any other option? Or are you seriously...

Re: Pan-Tilts, Heavy-Duty, Surplus, For Sale

Does this mean FLIR will finally stop sending me emails for products I don't want because I once gave them a business card at a trade expo?

Re: [FRC Blog] 2017 Motor (and Servo?) Controllers and MXP

The Digilent DMC60 has a much higher maximum voltage (28VDC) than the Victor SP (16VDC), which makes it suitable for a wider range of non-FRC applications. The integrated thermistor would also come...

Re: [FRC Blog] 2017 Motor (and Servo?) Controllers and MXP

Curious to see what the 2017 Servo rules will look like. Could kill off the small niches in which the NeveRest 60 had some FRC applicability.

Re: Five Person Drive team in 2017

There have been years where teams didn't get new buttons for district championship, and were expected to re-use their previous buttons. Most teams were able to do that (at least after practice day),...
