Re: pic: 1678 Offseason Robot Progress

Are those Talons/Victors attached to anything, or simply being held in place by wire tension?

Re: Average score per match and cycle times

For most games that involve cycling between a loading area and a scoring area, a "good" (1st round pick) team will successfully accomplish the task roughly 3 times per match.

Re: Registration 2017

Last night events were showing open slots and higher capacities. This morning the capacities had been lowered so that all CHS (and apparently other districts as well) showed 0 capacity. This includes...

Re: Registration 2017

How many of them reached waitlist not because of new sign-ups but because they lowered the capacity? I know CHS lowered capacities to match their current registration.

Re: Inter-District Play in 2017

CHS events appear to have lowered their capacities this morning, so that any inter-district registrations would be wait lists instead of guaranteed registrations. I understand this, as they wanted to...

Re: Legality of purchasing Planetary Gearboxes from alternative sources.

8mm/2mm at least meets the rule of thumb that a keyway width is 1/4 the diameter of the shaft. And thus broach manufacturers will make broaches and bushing combinations in that size.

I'm aware of...

Re: Legality of purchasing Planetary Gearboxes from alternative sources.

These gearmotors being from China may help explain the completely nonsensical output shaft. 10mm diameter with a 4mm keyway. Practically no sprockets available in that size, nor keyway broach sets.

Re: [FRC Blog] STIMS and Steampunk

How do I get Chief Delphi angry and ranting about 1712 not being delivered enough free pizzas during build season?

Re: How do you grow your off-season competition?

When deciding to expand your event, please consider your volunteers. Running several qualifications matches per team at a larger event means two things, quicker turnaround and longer hours. Both of...

Re: Why insist team 47 around anymore?

I can't speak for the team members, but it was a merger between 47 (Chief Delphi) and 65 (Huskie Brigade), rather than one team absorbing the other. Both teams were very accomplished prior to the...

Re: The Best Team(s) to Never Win an Official Event

Team 708 has really stepped up their on-the-field game over the past few years, and is the best non-winner in MAR that I can think of (now that 1089 has a division banner)....

Football plays also don't last 120-135 seconds each. Typically only a few seconds. In fact, many people have seen the article that cites there's only about 11 minutes of actual football...

Re: Utilizing breaks between matches.

Not many high school football games have analysis desks to handle downtime between plays. While having something like that at every event would be ideal, I don't think it's a realistic expectation.

Re: Registration 2017

Huh?

The Midwest regional celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. 1625 were rookies in 2005, and didn't attend Midwest until 2007.
