Re: pic: How 1251 shipped.

I mentioned the transmission because we used the AndyMarks which means you just need to use the 1/2" cylinders. If they did custom ones they might need larger which wouldn't work as well. If you...

Re: pic: How 1251 shipped.

P.S. Do you really need that compressor? If you're just using the air to run the shifting cylinders, you can scrap it. If you're using the AndyMarks like we are, you can get well over 100 shifts...

Re: pic: How 1251 shipped.

If I'm not running around like a chicken with my head cut off and you've got an extra drill at UCF, grab me. I'm sure that there are plenty of people that would love to help you work on getting the...

Re: pic: Delphi Demons 2006 finished robot

I like the funnel idea to get everything down to one ball-width to avoid binding. How well does your funnel end up working? I noticed with some prototypes that in many cases it would still cause the...

Re: pic: 2006 HOTBOT

I've noticed one thing with the shooter design that I would think could be an extremely major issue. By having that ball travelling on that arc which is a passive system for it's length of time, any...

Re: pic: Protecting the Camera is No Joke

Whenever the camera is on and tracking in the background you need to have the Laffy Taffy song on... "Shake that Laffy Taffy... that Laffy Taffy..." cause with the sprinkler effect of the camera,...

Re: pic: Team 81's Programmer's Teaser Explained

If you get the time ever, that would be an awesome white paper to write up. I'm sure with something like that, you'd give Lavery some pretty interesting ideas for the game next year. If you get...

Re: pic: Team 81's Programmer's Teaser Explained

You were able to get your system to recognize balls using the camera? Didn't you run into the same issues as we did last year with tetras and the ambient lighting issues? I'm curious how you were...

Re: pic: OH NO!!!

You don't need to wear safety goggles around poof balls fortunately. As Team 1902's R&D department discovered, poof balls don't fit in your eyes.

Re: pic: SPAM's 2006 robot

I was hoping the evil genius would be in a dark corner somewhere programming an auto-tracking turret this year. I can't wait to see it work this year auto-firing. Great job to Eric, his programmers,...

Re: pic: Team 121 Picture 1

Ah, there she is. Probably the robot I've been waiting for the most because of the ingenius (and beautiful) design back in 2002. I can't wait to see her at competition.

Re: pic: 48 Controls Teaser

I like that "Auto Fire" button. I'd love to see teams get to use that camera to automatically detect and fire when the scenario allows. I had originally designed a system and coded it to do this, but...

Re: pic: Team 1523 Shooter + Video

Very nicely done, I didn't think that catapults could come out with a rapid-fire. I can't wait to see it when you guys tweak it and work out the accuracy bugs. Just be careful with the surgical...

Promoting Competitions Through Facebook

Re: pic: Wheel of Doom

I like it Paul, we were looking into something similar a few weeks ago. Our inspiration was this: http://rescomp.stanford.edu/~arens/ee118/mechanics.html which looks similar to what I'm guessing...
