Re: [FRC Blog] Stop Build Day Survey Results

Re: [FRC Blog] Stop Build Day Survey Results

You can say that the plurality-winning opinion is keeping sbd, but you will also have to point out that a supermajority of respondents think there should be some kind of change to the existing rules.

Re: Location of Georgia District Events

There was nothing targeted towards you, just the idea that you proposed. I never said you were part of anything, nor did I claim any venues Georgia uses to be lavish. If I were to target you, I would...

Re: Location of Georgia District Events

Re: Location of Georgia District Events

I will wager a guess that inner city Atlanta teams needing to travel nontrivial distances for all 2-3 of their PCH events would also consider that a hassle.

Re: Achieving Consistency

Exactly. It's good to not get too invested at the beginning, but I would guarantee you that there are probably fewer than a dozen robots ever built at the powerhouse level that didn't have some...

Re: Achieving Consistency

Getting the process that can help breed consistency on your team is just like learning how to walk before you can run. You're almost never getting anywhere with an inconsistent robot. You're getting...

Re: [FRC Blog] 2nd District Event Registration Thursday – Important New Information

As far as I know, PNW and FiM are the two systems that use the home event rule. Some teams will be intentionally registering for both their first and second event on Thursday.

As to why we went from...

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Robotics Competition Registration Update

I mean, I've been a big fan of first come first serve because we get to pick based on priorities we set instead of whatever priorities FIRST would hypothetically give us to pick from. If I'm trying...

Re: Best 3rd pick this season

I don't know about you guys but even from the 4th spot at champs and IRI, all-star 5254 aka "HYPE" aka "Haven't You Paid Enoughattentiontokevinleonard" was probably the best 3rd robot.

Re: Mentors: What's something you wish you knew going in?

To make it as simple as possible, I try to look at FRC as a program where teams can have tiers, and if you can't satisfy conditions for the lower tier, you can't advance to a higher tier. If you...

Re: Registration 2017

Re: Mentors: What's something you wish you knew going in?

When you mentor, focus your involvement in FIRST primarily (solely?) on the team. The kids, their parents, the kids, mentors, the sponsors, the kids and the kids are the priority. Working with...

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

I occasionally use the word "region" to describe an area in district events. Regionals are independent of a region.

Let me amend: events in FIRST at a size equivalent to a regional already do what...

Re: [FIRST EMAIL] Stop Build Day Survey

They haven't been through inspection at their first district event, which allows them no more than 4-5 hours on day zero and two to three hours on day one to get inspected. It's really easy to find...
