Re: General Motor Rules

Yes, but it gives a huge benefit to teams who can identify and source the most powerful motors in those series. My fear is that you'll have low resource teams limited to what's in the KoP and...

Re: In Need of Banebot Wheels

We used similar material on our shooter wheels in 2014. However we used strips instead of the tube. For hubs, we just used standard VEXpro 4" traction wheels, that way we could easily integrate them...

Re: BattleBots Return - And They're Powered by VEXpro!

Considering the time frame that network TV typically works on, a second summer season is the most the most realistic option. The fall is very much locked in at the moment, and there's only a small...

Re: Event with 30,0000 HS students in Detroit.

Since it's evident that people can't have a discussion about the city of Detroit without it devolving into histrionics about homicide victims and ad hominem attacks, I'm closing this thread. Take it...

Re: Team 1717 retires

1717 had one of the most impressive FRC programs I've ever seen. The knowledge base that their students possessed was made even more impressive by the short amount of time each of them participated...

Re: 2015 Rah Cha Cha Ruckus

Last year when Ruckus was announced there were no Ontario off-season events. With the addition of the Fall Fiesta event in Toronto and rumours of new events this fall, I think some Ontario teams...

Re: MCC (Minimum competitive Concept 2015

At the regional level, I saw very few (if any) robots who had reliable Canburglars, but didn't have other elimination worthy functions. Most teams that I saw who were picked for Canburgling, would...

Re: Which robot(s) did you like the best this year?

Yes.

The 2002 game had two very different strategies for qualifying matches and elimination matches. In qualifying teams were ranked based on the sum of losing alliances scores. However, the elims...

Re: [FRC Blog] Two Championship Survey Results and Path Forward

Yes, this is correct. Flights, hotels, and airport transportation were covered for two team members. Most teams chose to send one student and one mentor.

Re: [FRC Blog] Two Championship Survey Results and Path Forward

FIRST's analysis of the survey numbers and this thread are great examples of the old theory of "people are just going to see what they want to see in the numbers."

When I looked at the numbers, I...

Re: Karthik & 1114: Effective FIRST Strategies 2015 - Championship Conference

The team was unable to record the seminar this year due to it taking place at the same time as FRC Practice Matches. Hopefully someone in attendance will post their video; I saw multiple cameras...

Re: Fastest Possible Canburglar

I actually mentioned it with respect to people trying to speed up minibots. However, I would not be surprised if teams tried this for Canburglars this season.

Re: 900's Championship Cheesecaking Chronicles

You're absolutely right. As a contributor to the negativity here, I apologize. This thread should be to discuss Team 900's journey at the Championship. Sorry that I derailed the topic. I'm going to...

Re: 900's Championship Cheesecaking Chronicles

No, your statement precisely disrespected them, whether it was your intent or not. Frankly I'm tired of seeing both 1923 and 900 have to deal with these slights. There are students on these teams who...

Re: Karthik & 1114: Effective FIRST Strategies 2015 - Championship Conference

Nope, it was meant as a friendly joke to the Poofs. We often joke about how pretty their robots are and they often joke about how... not pretty ours are. :)

Re: 900's Championship Cheesecaking Chronicles

I struggle with you level of disrespect. You can try all you want to insult our alliance partners and take away from their accomplishments, but it's not going to work.

Re: 900's Championship Cheesecaking Chronicles

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the inspectors we worked with over the weekend. On Wednesday we approached Ed Sparks, the Curie LRI, to show him what we had been working on. We wanted to...
