Re: WCP: 2017 Product Launch + MCC 2017

This is a sweet product lineup! Can't wait to play with some of these.

Re: FRCTop25 Popularity Poll For Charity Results

Missed the show, but that's a pretty neat list! Do you have final numbers for how much money was raised for 5871?

Re: Belts 9mm or 15mm?

Not all belts are equal, FWIW. If you're looking at HTD profile (what VexPro and AndyMark sell) I would recommend 15mm for drivetrain. If you're running GT2/GT3 belts and pulleys, 9mm could be...

Re: pic: 4143 differential swerve concept

First thought: This is going to be impossible to make a module drive straight. A very small speed differential between the two wheels will make this turn for any reasonable driving speed...

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Championship District Allocations

I believe FIRST announced somewhere they are targeting 400 teams per Championship Event and 6 sub-divisions, so that's about 67 teams per subdivision. Still smaller than any division or sub-division...

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Championship Housing Registration

FWIW, I counted 6 HOF teams in Houston:

16, 120, 175, 365, 987, 1538

And 12 in St. Louis:
27, 51, 67, 103, 111, 191, 236, 254, 341, 359, 597, 1114

A large number of the extra teams in St. Louis...

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Choice Round 1: Slight Delay & a Tweak

It was also on the Behind the Lines epsiode. Jerry Budd (from AndyMark) offered to pay $20 of the shipping charges for the team that submitted the priority list with the most items on it.

I believe...

In the mean time, they're Molex P/N 22-01-30X7 header housings, where X is the number of pins (22-01-3037 is the 3-pin header...

Re: Fire This Weekend in Team 5871 Chickadees Work Space

Wow, that's terrible. Glad everyone is safe and you found a new build space.

I don't know if there's any precedent for this, but it could be worth contacting frcteams@firstinspires.org and seeing if...

Re: 1.1 Pump (am-3227) Really an improvement?

Curious also that AndyMark's specs (http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-2005.htm) for the Viair 90C don't match the specs posted on Viair's website (http://www.viaircorp.com/90C.html), which pegs it...

Re: New coach question: when does FIRSTchoice stuff ship?

We actually just had an episode of Behind the Lines the other night on this exact topic! I recommend you check it out, it will probably answer all of your questions and more that you didn't know you...

Re: Registration 2016

There won't be one final number for all PNW teams, since it's different for every team. The PNW fundraised pass-through grants aren't entirely unrestricted, so the FIRST Washington staff works to...

Re: VEXpro 2017

Good Stuff!

Am I correct that the changes are all maintenance and assembly related and the are no changes to load ratings, etc?

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Choice 2017

Veteran teams (aka, not rookie teams) do not get a control system in their Kickoff Kit, so I would recommend you pick up those components on FIRST Choice.

If you click on the links to the various...

Re: Alternatives for Signal and Pneumatic Connectors?

It's not cheap, but the WCP Spartan Board (http://www.wcproducts.net/sensors) is a great solution (IMHO) for the RoboRIO connectors. It offers a variety of nice features, but one of the best is that...

Re: Advantages/Disadvantages of West Coast Drive

The primary reason to build or not build a WCD versus a "traditional" skid-steer drivetrain is what your resources are. Some teams resources lend themselves to a more traditional drivetrain, some...

Re: The Best Team(s) in need of an event win/

In Washington, the first team that comes to mind is 2557 SOTAbots. They won the Seattle Olympic Regional in 2012, then...a lot of finalist appearances. Solid robots year in and year out and making...

Re: Are Steampunk Goggles Safe?

For what it's worth, while they may or may not be legal as safety glasses, Steampunk goggles are perfectly legal as forehead protectors.

Re: [FRC Blog] 2017 FIRST Championships Allocations for Districts

I have a story on this: Once upon a time, a team from Northern California was a "bad team". They built pretty bad robots that didn't work very well. Sometimes they didn't even move. They only had...

Re: How are teams mounting drivetrain encoders on WCD?

Correct. I actually had a much longer post drafted up and then deleted most of it to keep it shorter and more straightforward. Tension your chains and you shouldn't have a problem.

I would consider...
