Bearing Blocks/Chain Tensioning
My team has never used chain before, and I'm doing some last minute research to ensure we will be able to this season.
I was looking into calculating the C-C distance, and found this calculator...

Re: WCP: 2017 Product Launch + MCC 2017
This looks awesome! What material/dimensions are those polycord pulleys? Your website doesn't seem to list them. Only the materials/dimensions of the hubs. Unless your pulleys are 6061-T6 Aluminum......

Re: Drivetrain PID tuning
Gyros don't track linear displacement. As Jared said, they track the rate at which the angular displacement is changing.

Re: Drivetrain PID tuning
How do you accomplish this? Do you just set your setpoint proportional to the position of the stick?

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???
Hm... What's that plastic bit in the middle of the wheel? I hope it has some way to interface with a hex shaft nicely.

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???
I didn't. I don't actually have any hex shaft stock in my house (I live in an unusual household). That being said, I do have a couple of creative ideas using what I have on hand. I'll see if my...

Re: New AndyMark Product Game Hint???
Sorry to revive a dead-ish thread, but over the holidays I'm training some new programmers with a kitbot we assembled before the break. I am happy to report that these do fit on .5" hex shafts very...

Drivetrain PID tuning
Today, I was encouraging my rookie programmers to utilize the NavX to experiment with PID Control in order to make our robot drive straight. Given that we've never done this in a season, one of the...

Re: Tool list .rookie team
Alternatively, you could put a tote on a smaller scale, tare it, then put the robot on top of the tote. A bit of a janky solution, but worked well for us. :)

Re: Tool list .rookie team
I would definitely suggest these, but I'm not sure about what their budget constraints are. They did say "minimal" budget. That's why I went the hand tools route.

Re: Tool list .rookie team
Since you're on a budget, I'm going to go the route we went for a couple years. We didn't have access to a space where we could set up permanent bench tools, so here's a list of essential hand...

Re: pic: 4476 Offseason Robot "Aaryan 2.0"
Looks great! Personally curious as to why you have that arm that flips down on the other side, when it looks like your intake would already be sufficient for class A defense manipulation.

Re: Automation Direct Solenoid Cables
In theory? Simply the amount of control one gives us over the other. Spring return is by no means a bad thing, but I'm in the camp of thinking that it's best to keep the state of the solenoid after...
