Re: Write to Flash Drive on the RoboRio

Same thing just start with the main directory of the Rio instead of the flash drive directory.

Re: Write to Flash Drive on the RoboRio

Plug in a flash drive and open up the Rio web based configuration. Then in the file browser find what the flash drive directory is called. Ours was "/u".

Once you know what the directory is called...

Re: Robot in 3 Days 2017

For us the point of Ri3D is, rather than a place to get ideas, a way to see a prototype of your idea. For anyone like us who doesn't really have a budget for prototypes this can serve as a sort of...

Re: PCH 2017

Some solutions:

1. I think one of the best ways to increse the available mentor base and funding would be to encourage current sponsors to talk to their business partners about getting involved. ...

Re: PCH 2017

The following are my observations regarding the city of Atlanta:

1. Correct me if I'm wrong but school systems are not cooperative at all. Like AT ALL.

2. Faculty at many schools aren't usually...

Re: STEAM Actually comming to FRC, and im not happy

This is what I get from reading up on the links provided by Lil' Lavery:

STEAM initiatives promote art education as a method of improving skills critical to modern and future STEM fields.

I think...

Re: STEAM Actually comming to FRC, and im not happy

The point these sources seem to be making is that arts related education should take place in programs focused on promoting STEM higher education and careers.

Your concern is that these...

Re: Quick fix for getting serial data from CMUcam5 Pixy

One is how easy the wiring is:

Plug in provided ribbon cable (Pixy to Arduino)
Plug in USB cable (Arduino to RoboRIO)

It's basically impossible for that set up to go wrong.

I also find that rs-232...

Re: Quick fix for getting serial data from CMUcam5 Pixy

So far the Pixy has done a pretty good job of finding reflective tape lit with green LED rings in a well lit area.

Right now I am having an odd problem with the RIO talking to the arduino. ...

Re: Quick fix for getting serial data from CMUcam5 Pixy

This has been turned into a git hub repo here: https://github.com/FRC4080Turner/Pixy-cam-to-RoboRIO. I will be updating it tomorrow and over the weekend after I have tested this on the RIO again. I...

Re: Quick fix for getting serial data from CMUcam5 Pixy

There isn't anything related to serial communication in the begin VI. In this case having the initialization code outside of and feeding the loop is effectively the same as having it in the begin...

Quick fix for getting serial data from CMUcam5 Pixy

So I have a way to get the data from the pixy cam to the RoboRIO via USB at 50 frames a second. The pixy is plugged in to an Arduino Uno with the induced cable and the Arduino is plugged into a PC...

So it seems one disagreement we have lies with the question of whether or not meeting more often over a short period of time is more stressful than meeting less often over a longer period of time.

I...

Re: [FRC Blog] Stop Build Day Survey Results

My take is most people don't want it to change much or at all (4 & 5 = 52.6%) Most people however want it to change at least a little (1-4 = 65.9%).

Edit: ugh...

Re: [FIRST EMAIL] Stop Build Day Survey

You need excellent engineering skills to win in a competition in the first place. Yes giving teams more time with the robot would likely help people "win" more, but ask your self why. Getting more...
