Re: [FRC Blog] 2017 Motor (and Servo?) Controllers and MXP

Based on the SD540C Library documentation (http://www.mindsensors.com/reference/FRC/html/Java/) it looks like the SD540C is just a CAN enabled dumb speed controller, rather then a Talon SRX...

Re: Are Steampunk Goggles Safe?

Unlike the Forney Industries glasses which have ANSI Z87.1 clearly marked on the lenses (as required by ANSI), the amazon glasses have no such markings on the lens, the page makes no mention of ANSI...

Re: Position and velocity PIDControllers using same encoder

Here's a wrapper that 2485 wrote that does this.

Re: [TPD 2016] Nintendo NES Classic giveaway presented by Two Pencil Designs!

Shouldn't the winner be one of ctt956, Wayne Doenges, or XaulZan11, as they were the only ones to comment on TPD products on CD?

Re: paper: FRC Elo 2008-2016

The team lookup tab didn't work for me in OpenOffice 4.1.3, or Excel 2007. It did work in Excel 2013. it looks like some of the features it uses were added in Excel 2013.

Re: [FRC BLOG] This isn't a Robot, Housing, and Throwing Things

There was a paper airplane that flew across Einstein during a match, and missed falling on the field by only a few feet of elevation: https://youtu.be/4d2VW_mkJ3c?t=54

Re: Seeking advice for rookie programming

The APIs between C++ and Java are almost identical. Thus, a C++ team would be able to help you get started with encoders, for example. I help C++ teams all the time, even though my understanding of...

Re: Steampunk wiring - wiring color

In 2012, it was ruled that painted wire didn't change its color. Logically, then, a copper color painted wire should be fine. *

*Not all inspectors may agree with this impeccable logic, which is...

Re: Roborio and Real Time Clock

The roboRIO does not have a battery powered RTC. However, the DS sends the time when it connects, which the roboRIO uses to set the system time. If you wait until the DS connects, you can have...

Re: Builed Failed error

Are you programming a cRIO or a roboRIO? i agree that you need to set the team number, but it appears you are using netbeans with the cRIO libraries.

Re: roboRio arbitrarily stops connecting to LifeCam, though Windows still can

Is there anything interesting in dmesg?

Have you tried accessing the camera on the roboRIO through another method (ie WPILib's CameraServer, or LabVIEW)?

Re: LIDAR Lite Alternative

No inspector, whether they've had their coffee or not, should confuse that with a "PWM COTS Servo" (R29), which has to be controlled by the PWM port on the roboRIO (R54, R68). The RPLIDAR does have...

192 in 1999. Several teams that year had big arms that they used to play defense (see team 45 tip over two robots here*: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0CDop_IwW8). However, 192 was the scariest....

Re: Labview for rookie teams?

Does this work with the FRC update? I'd hate for someone to spend $50 to find out it has limited applicability for FRC.
