Re: I want to be an FTA

I want to add a suggestion for anyone who does want to become an FTA. After you've volunteered as a scorekeeper and have interacted with the FMS, volunteer on the practice field at champs and...

Re: I want to be an FTA

You missed a step, at least in MN. Scorekeeper for a couple of years, then FTAA for a couple, then maybe, if you've impressed folks and you're reliable.

Do you really want to be an FTA though?...

Re: Northern MN robotics hub

I'd be interested too. After the meetup at ICC a$@#couple of weeks ago I$@#started moving forward with an old idea of mine, the Arrowhead Region Robotics Resource$@#Group, or A triple R G. We'll...

Re: Cards against humanity scholarship for women in STEM

When someone says "Black lives matter," they aren't saying that that black lives matter more, or that white lives matter less, they're saying that it often feels like black lives don't matter because...

Re: Cards against humanity scholarship for women in STEM

I was more thinking about the team members who could potentially win a 4 year full ride scholarship to any college or university in the US.

The application video is due Dec 11.

I thought some of you might be interested in this.

It's international, but you have to attend college in the US.

Re: FIRST Championship Volunteer Registration

Both, but I can't work the practice field twice, so I'm going to have to find a calmer thing one week. Somehow 12 hours of non-stop running around for 5 days straight takes more out of me than it...

Re: Minne Mini-Regional 2016

I'm assuming the event is still on. I'm leaving Duluth right now so I can make it to set up the field.

Re: Docker for FRC - Better Environment Setup

There's already something similar to that in the Microsoft environment, App-V. The problem with that though is that the licensing is prohibitively restrictive. In windows 10, it's only available in...

Re: Minne Mini-Regional 2016

The four alliances is pretty straightforward, the 3 teams per alliance is less so. There are two ways to do it, 3 team alliances with backups or 4 team alliances. 3 team with backup is what I think...

Re: Registration 2017

You're missing 27, Rush who are registered for the Northern Light's regional in Duluth, they showed up on the list last night though, so that may just be a slight delay on your process picking up the...

Re: Cookie cutter game design

Of course the game designers consider ways for teams at all skill levels to score in all aspects of the game. The game would be horrible if they didn't.

There are teams with beginner, journeyman and...

Re: Looking for FTAs, FTAAs and Scorekeepers to test an app

I ran another update through yesterday. It's in the store. Mostly stability and usability fixes. Though a new feature is that if you right click on a graph (long tap on a touch device) you can save...

Re: STIMS Registration Guide

I expect that the Free/Reduced lunch demographic data is required for reporting purposes for various states that track it on a per team level.

Re: STIMS Registration Guide

My favorite part is that the "I want to..." button on the dashboard isn't intuitively a button. It does an amazing job of hiding the actual content that would be useful on a dashboard.

Re: 2016 Minnesota Robotics Invitational

No, that would be posted by the FMS to the FIRST website during a normal event. That upload is disabled during an offseason event and while the information is in the database it really can't be...

Re: Registration 2017

No, because the RD picks teams off the waitlist based on whatever their particular priorities are. Rookie teams, teams without an existing regional will get priority over teams trying to get into a...
