Re: Five Person Drive team in 2017

I didn't see a Media button. Any chance that the Media person is now considered part of the drive team?

Re: STIMS Registration Guide

We had a couple of students who were over 18 last season. If my memory servers me right, I had to send the invitation to them instead of their parents. Even with that, they said they had a hard...

Re: 2016 Minnesota State Champs

Another great low goal shooter and all around excellent bot to add to the list is 4778. If not for a serious of unfortunate events for them, North Star may have had a different result.

Re: What will FRC 2016 Stronghold be remembered by?

For me, there are a lot of highlights which I think this year will be remembered by. I'm so grateful to have been in the stands to watch 330's remarkable semifinal performance and share in the...

Re: Load in and pits

Yes you may start working on your bot right at 1. Be sure to move your crate to the end of the aisle as soon as you are ready for it to be moved to storage.

Re: New Blog Pit Assignments at the FIRST Championship

+1

I had the clear version on my phone and when I opened the app I saw the clear version momentarily before it reloaded (without prompting) to the new version which is what the world looks like with...

Re: Severe Weather in St. Louis

Thanks for the suggestion to bring towels. I'm concerned about our stuff getting wet while waiting to get into the dome. Gonna see if we can score some tarps before we leave as well.

Re: Teams coming to Champs

Sure. We have had 2 or 3 people hanging out when we have had the good fortune to go to St. Louis. This year the Innovation Center across the street at the Renaissance Grand hotel could be a good...

Re: Being Proactive About Paper Airplanes on Einstein

Last seasons Einstein matches seemed especially slow due to the lengthy gaps between matches. When I spoke with my team about this thread I was happy to see that the majority of the team agree they...

Re: Interesting observation on stats for this year (to the end of March)

I agree with this assessment. The class C defenses typically take a lot of time relative to the amount of point that can be attained. If a bot can't do it solo, it is not efficient to have two bots...

Re: Bumper Indenting

Correct. They must be at least 4" off the ground and no higher that 12". If you are able to lower the bumper and still have a ground clearance of 4" you should be fine.

Re: Student or Adult Coach

Since I've been involved with my team, we have always had a student as drive coach. That said, going forward we will have an adult coach on standby in the event someone to help manage situations...

Re: Anyone else having problems contacting West Coast Products?

We had this problem last week. They do get back eventually. I know they must be swamped. We were waiting for parts and we wanted them before we left for our week 1 tournament. We were running out...

Re: Is OPR an accurate measurement system?

A factor in this is that the game is played and scored differently in the elimination rounds. OPR is a measurement that may be considered when choosing alliance partners though for example, shooting...

Re: Human Spy Communication Rules

We have built small flags (about 1' x 2') for our spy to use so that it is easier for the drive coach to see the movements. As long as he doesn't cross into the field with his movements these should...

Re: Low Bar Flap

I agree though I think we'll ask our human players not to risk it until a precedence has been set. Tech Foul per Boulder is a stiff penalty if a ref has a different interpretation of the rule.
