Re: Universal Spy Hand Signals

I'd consider adapting hand signals used in rigging and crane operation. It may give a nice place to start.

Re: Losing members?

I think this irregularity can be a big cause of your drop in students. Many parents cannot/will not put up with such short notice on transportation and will give their kids a lot of greif about...

Re: BattleBots Return - And They're Powered by VEXpro!

Re: 2014 Virginia Regional

We got pretty good coverage of the event, probably missing a few matches(I was told we missed none but we'll see...) and bits of awards. They're ever so slowly making their way from my computer to...

Re: Team 422’s scouting sheets

Each team has a hanging file and a collection of their sheets in it. When reviewing the data we often look at both the total performance(points shots/defenses/misses/whatever is important at the...

Re: Pistons not extending fast enough?

Agreed, I would not want to spend precious time between competitions tuning a system only to arrive at an event and find its illegal.

Re: Pistons not extending fast enough?

I believe what is occurring is that one solenoid is currently connected to both cylinders, and he was recommending to use one solenoid per cylinder for a total of two in the entire assembly.

Re: Need your buttons!

It doesn't look like you have one from 422, I'll have to see if I can grab you one at the next meeting.

Re: How do you wear buttons at competitions?

A lab coat was a favorite for one of the more enthusiastic button collectors on my team.

Re: Team 1448 Robot "50 points in 50 seconds"

I believe many teams will demonstrate and every regional that isn't quite a piece of cake.

Re: Winter Storm Nemo

Its something forecasters have been doing the past year or so, they're trying to get people to take snow storms a bit more seriously.

Re: Ideal FRC Game

Yes, the kit came with very easy instructions and I don't remember there being any issues with places running out of PVC since the quantities most teams needed was pretty small compared to use in...

Some things you need to look at before blowing a bunch of money on tools is what do you have to work with, and where do you feel you're currently falling short?

First is space. How much space do...

Re: Google Fiber

One could argue a lot of things.

Most of the internet is advancing as fast as it can, no matter how many people are left behind on dialup.

Competition in the US is very regional. Some large...
