Re: I want to be an FTA

This will be my 4th year as a CSA and FTAA, and I'd like to be an FTA as well. Realize that a ton of work goes into being an FTA. You are there a day early to setup the field and you are the last...

Re: Powering two compressors with one PCM

You can ignore the PCM entirely and use a Y cable to control 2 spikes. Not sure if this would be legal in 2017, depends if the PCM is required. Either way you need to have the pressure switch in...

Re: Value & Credibility of 4th robots on an Alliance

My team was the 3rd pick for the 4th Carson alliance this year. We took home a blue banner for winning the division despite our robot never set its wheels down in eliminations. The vibe of my team...

Re: Looking for District Naysayers

I'm all for districts, however by switching to districts the events lost a sparkle they had. The main detractor is the fact that we simply do not see as many unique teams. Outside of the 120ish teams...

Re: What is the strangest issue with a robot you have ever seen?

I can think of 2 pretty weird issues. The first one was my fault, we used an encoder with too many ticks per rev connected to a CIM. We had this feed into a jaguar for I think speed control, but I...

Re: Help tracking down a possible cause for robot disconnects

Each time you lose comms, PDP ports 12-15 draw a decent amount of current. I assume these are your 4 cim motors. You have a few brownouts, but none of them seem related. I'd open up the rio and check...

[QUOTE=AllenGregoryIV;1571393]Or to be touching the carpet./QUOTE]

I was CSAing at that event, and it was later found out to be illegal as per G7.

Re: How old is your oldest robot

41 still has our 2008 robot working and nearly fully functional. I believe the IR board needs to be reflashed (have the dump somewhere), and one of the fisher price gearboxes needs to be replaced. We...

Re: Driver station not saving logs

Is there a way to change the save path of the ds logs? I didn't see an obvious path in the program files\FRC DS\driverstation.ini (or whatever it is called exactly).

Re: Human Vision Camera compatiable with FMS & Java ?

Sounds like this bug (https://usfirst.collab.net/sf/go/artf4842?nav=1&_pagenum=1&returnUrlKey=1459901313559).

You can either recompile wpilibj or you can copy cameraserver.java into your project and...

Driver station not saving logs

I was CSAing an event this past weekend and there were two teams who had no logs. I tried running as admin, and making the Log Files folder, but neither helped. I suspect it was a permissions issue,...

Re: Westtown MAR District Won on Eliminations Tiebreaker Rules

I believe it should be based off points in playoffs. It's a rare enough occurrence that realistically it won't add much time to the event. Even as a volunteer that stays for ALL of teardown, I'd...

Re: 2016 MAR Season

Thanks, this is super useful as a CSA. The night before I usually go through each team to figure out if they are a first play, or a rookie as I want to visit them as early as possible.

Re: Suggestions for a event volunteer?

Wear comfortable shoes. As an FTAA you are going to be walking to and from alliance stations to get teams ready for the match. On top of that you might be on the other side of the field looking for...

Re: Andymark shipping and service

The only issue I can recall was getting the wrong part from first choice. We ordered part number like 37, and we got 73. A phone call fixed it, and a few days later we had the correct part.

Re: Engine flickering?

If that fixed it, it sounds like a calibration issue with the motor controller, or possibly using the wrong motor controller object in code.

@OP - A couple years ago my team had an issue and the...

Re: The 2015 FRC control system is a success

I was the CSA at both of your events, and I'm curious what update was the wrong version. After week 1, leaving the thumb drive at pit admin was an 11th hour change and I should have definitely put a...

Re: 2014/2015 protocol documentation

If you want to just use a cRio as a demo bot or what have you, I'd recommend Thunder cRio tools. (https://usfirst.collab.net/sf/sfmain/do/viewProject/projects.thunder_crio_c_tools) I haven't used it,...

Re: Roborio bricked?

Power up the rio, and hold the reset button for 5 seconds. This should put it in safe mode. Then try imaging via USB as Alex described above.

Re: Turning On Robot Router

Somewhat.

When you use the USB interface your computer will have an address of 172.22.11.1 with a subnet of 255.0.0.0 (might be 255.255.255.0) and the rio will have be 172.22.11.2. IP cameras will...

Re: Unable to flash firmware on PDP

I was able to get the PDP to respond to the light device LED...

Unable to flash firmware on PDP

I've been trying to get the PDP to take the newer firmware (1.37). It currently has 1.30.

I navigated to roborio-41.local and tried to update it through the web interface. I can see the PDP...

I signed up as a CSA or FTAA but I haven't received any emails about MKM.

What time is field setup?

Re: Router Issue? (Watchdog not Feed)

This is just wrong. No answer is better than a wrong answer. The watchdog has nothing to do with network communication.

The watchdog will stop all outputs from the cRio when the watchdog is not fed....
