Re: Jetson TX1 Devkit daughter card for four raspberry pi V1.3 cameras

I'd probably buy a couple. Not for FRC, but I'm doing a research project using the Jetson TX1 and we'd love to be able to easily hook up a handful of cameras.

Re: FIRST Logo Redesign?

Yeah, I noticed the logo right away too. I don't think they're actually changing it - they'd make a big announcement to that effect if they were, and it would be integrated into the new beta site.

Re: 2015 Oklahoma Regional

Sorry about the earlier lack of webstream and of sound - this is what happens when you try to run a webcast from a couple thousand miles away. :o The twitch account got blocked for streaming...

Re: Team 1114 - Simbot SideSwipe

Whoa, color-coded pneumatics that match the color scheme (red for "pull" and black for "push"). No detail too small. Can't wait to see it in action!

Re: Setting Up a Twitch Feed in Utah/Denver?

Definitely allowed. But as others have said, talk with the regional coordinators, since they're the ones who will give you permission to set up next to the field and tap of the big screen display. ...

Re: Team 95 Hard At Work - 2015

Hehe, this was the year! :)

Thanks for sharing. It's always cool to see another team's design and manufacturing process, especially on a machine as nicely built as yours.

Re: Disabled students on the team

I worked for four years with a student (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115797) who had muscular dystrophy and was in a wheelchair. He was the software guy, but he was also the...

Re: [FRC Blog] Want to Work for FRC?

An engineering degree is a kind of experience, and a particularly valuable one at that.

If FIRST says they want someone with the experience of a 4-year engineering program, that's up to them. The...

Re: Team 20: The Rocketeers - 2015 Reveal

Can you explain the tray that slides into the robot at 1:38? It looks like something to hold a stack of totes, but it seems the arms/elevator already does that?

Re: Got Gyro drift? Try Sensor Fusion !

Thanks for sharing! I think this raises the entry point for autonomous localization and navigation, which is great.

I think I'd be more worried about transient magnetic fields due to my own...

Re: What does your team use to share code?

I just want to make an observation about what happened on this thread. The OP asked a question about "sharing code", and the first TEN replies unanimously recommended a specific version control...

Re: Computer Vision without Image Processing

What is the topology you hope to use for your network? Once you know that, you can pretty easily calculate the number of operations (mostly just multiplies and adds) and get a rough performance...

Re: A Vision Program that teaches itself the game

So, I'm a graduate student in electrical engineering, and have taken classes in machine learning, artificial intelligence, image processing, and computer vision. I've spent four summers in...

Re: Non-FIRST name for Swerve Drive

Typically "synchro drive" refers to a system where the wheel orientations are synchronized. This is common on LEGO robots where it's much easier to make a system with 2-3 motors rather than 8. The...

Re: A Vision Program that teaches itself the game

You might want to read some of the RoboCup literature - just do a Google Scholar search for "RoboCup". At this point, the wheeled-robot classes are actually pretty decent, and the small class is...

Re: pic: A Star Path Planning

You can get part of the way there pretty easily: Extend your state space to include the robot's orientation as well as position. Instead of finding the least-cost path through a 2D world, you now...

Put this on my to-do list a month ago and finally got around to reading it today - hopefully my feedback is still useful.

First, thanks for writing and sharing. I agree with much of what you're...

Re: Disabling a robot

I was scorekeeper in Arkansas, and disabled a handful of robots for bumper issues over the course of the weekend.

The problem is that this rule hurts the teams that need the most help. I and my...

Re: Stellaris® MDL-BDC24 same as Jaguar??

Yes - depending on which Jaguars you're talking about. The 2011 KOP checklist lists the MDL-BDC24 as the KOP Jaguar motor controller.

The Jag was originally made by a company called Luminary Micro...

Re: pic: Graph

I'm a fan of Matplotlib, which is a Python library for plotting data. Then if I'm feeling especially perfectionist, I export to SVG and use Inkscape for touching up labels and legends.

Re: 2014 Oklahoma Regional Thread

Not that I know of. I was the person who did it in the past, and this year I wasn't able to be there and was only able to get the webcast pulled together. Sorry about that. :o I'll do my best for...

Re: pic: Graph

I'm guessing this is a graph of the MSC rankings during qualification matches? Top teams are at the bottom; a team's rank slowly drops, and then jumps every time they win a match. Very interesting,...

Re: Silicon Valley Regional 2014

Just to clarify - the timeout/backup cards were on one piece of paper and you ripped them apart, thinking they were both timeout cards?
