Re: Rivnut Tool

I have extensive experience with rivnuts from one of my former lives as an instrumentation installer. They work great with proper installation and care, but I have always been reluctant to introduce...

Re: Bus Parking for Lone Star

We're staying out off Kirby (we're pretty low budget), so I'm afraid the shuttle option is not viable. I do have other adults with me, but not licensed for the bus. I'm trying to recruit a driver...

Bus Parking for Lone Star

So the last word we have gotten is that there is no bus parking at the Lone Star venue. Any hints for us out-of-towners about what we should do? It's a real problem for us since I am both the head...

Talon SRX Mag Encoder case cad file

We just broke our second Talon mag encoder case. I know what the sticker says inside the box but teenage boys don't have much touch with a screwdriver. Does anyone have a clean cad file of the case...

Re: programming for brownout avoidance

Thanks! Can't believe I missed the Power Palette.

Do you think this process would work best in Periodic Tasks or Teleop?

programming for brownout avoidance

Our team is using a 6 cim drive for the first time and we are of course finding it quite easy to brown out when approaching full throttle from a stop and in turns in high gear.

I don't want to...

Re: Low bar or not

LOL, we were constantly arguing over which end is which. We finally came to the same kind of terminology compromise, although ours is "intake" and "shooter"

Re: 6 CIM Drive with CANTalon

Any hints/help for doing the same in LabView? I've tried slaving like in the CanTalonFollower LV example, but no joy.

I can do arcade with just two motors, but as soon as I try to slave another...

Quick release bumper attachment

I'm looking for advice regarding some way to incorporate robust quick release bumper mounts. In the past we've used wing nuts/thumb screws and we are looking for a better(quicker) way that works.

Keeping our C-RIO alive.

We are using a C-RIO in our T-Shirt/Demo robot and need to get LabView working again. The NI site tells us to reinstall the 2014 LV using the 2014 serial number. The problem is we don't have the...

Convertible robot?

Is is within the rules to remove/replace subassemblies from the robot between matches? Provided of course that the whole thing comes in under weight and both configurations are legal and pass...

Re: Slides from my Arduino presentation

Another really nice simulator is AutoDesk's 123D Circuit. It's both a breadboarding/schematic app and an Arduino simulator. And it's free. You do have to register for an account. It's great...

Re: The Dow Red Stick Rumble - A Report

And another thing, I like the No Pick Captains rule, especially with this game were there is such a huge spread in robot capabilities. Without it you get results like we witnessed at Lone Star in...

Thumbs up Re: The Dow Red Stick Rumble - A Report

craigcd says it perfectly. Our team accomplished exactly what we set out to do, which was introduce new members to the joys of FRC and work on the composition of our new drive team after graduating....

Re: Contested Containers

We are thinking that making two 3-stacks then placing a noodled bin on one and then placing that stack on the second one for 42 points is a viable strategy. We are working toward optimizing...

Re: Contested Containers

Our bot can already build a stack of 6 from the load station as fast as our human can feed them. We are definitely NOT an elite team, so I see stacking from the chutes as being a lot faster than...

Re: Has anyone tested out the viability of using hooks to lift totes?

A wide-spread reliance on hooks to lift the totes worries me. I wonder about the ability of the box lips to stand up to match after match without damage.

Re: recycle rush full strategy

We think auto is going to evolve into a race for the center recycle bins. Who needs 24 pts when you can get seven noodle/bin/tote stacks. 7X42 = ??? That alliance will scoff at your Auto points.

[FTC]: Matrix or Tetrix?

We are finally getting an FTC event going in our neck of the woods (Louisiana) and so our team is taking the plunge.

Enabling the compressor on boot

We are a sophomore team and this is our first experience with pneumatics. If I understand things correctly, it's common practice to pressure up the bot prior to starting the match. However, our...

Re: ANYONE have Labview code for the LEDS from AndyMArk?????????

I agree, use an Arduino. While you could conceivable operate them using SPI in LV, an Arduino will MUCH simpler to implement.
