Re: Where do I ask for unicorns, I mean changes to the official stats?

I tried to adapt MLB's "games back" metric in the spreadsheet I used for my announcing. I'm convinced that it can work, though not that I did it yet.

I used RP since wins isn't as valuable a...

Re: 2016 IRI Rule Change Suggestions

When I breach, your secret passage is no longer protected. I can get returning boulders with impunity, and cross back to the neutral zone without negotiating a defense.

This has the following...

Re: G28 + G11 seems broken

Zing.

I will admit that, in the past, they have ruled it the way you outlined up above, but it's wrong. The rule says "solely aimed at".

Re: G28 + G11 seems broken

If you're parked in front of the batten, and I'm trying to get to it, my strategy is aimed at getting to the batten, not at drawing the foul.

Re: What's the most interesting thing about your team that's not on the Internet... Y

That certain team members were known to eat kitkat bars without breaking them first, like some kind of feral beast. Also that this led to an entire meeting's worth of discussion on the proper way to...

What's the most interesting thing about your team that's not on the Internet... Yet?

in an effort to get to know the teams on newton before emceeing, I wandered around the pits on Wednesday. In order to focus my data gathering (such as it was - I only made it to about half the pits)...

Re: IRI - 2015 Rule Modification Ideas?

Teleop of 2 minutes, or 1 minute 30 seconds. As it is now, it'll be too easy for powerhouses to run out of game pieces.

Re: FRC Championship Trading Cards: Texas Series

Save me some! I went through to see #teamtexas on Wednesday evening, but I think these weren't set up yet.

Re: 2015 Lone star Regional

There is a bug in FMS that causes the score to not be correct when a team is in a match with a field fault. Basically it ignores all matches after the one to be replayed when calculating the score.

Re: Should the Number One seed be Alloud to pick the Number Two seed?

People have talked a lot about giving the #1 seed the first and ninth picks. I'm talking about the first and second.

Re: Should the Number One seed be Alloud to pick the Number Two seed?

Every argument here makes me think that the number 1 seed should get the first two picks in alliance selection. They earned it, right?

Re: Dangerous precedent set by Q&A 461: Loaning Parts/Assemblies to other teams

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

This is something we've done for years. Encouraging well-established and -funded teams to help struggling teams has been called out as the point of, among other...

Re: Use of Timeouts

I thought of this after the Dallas finals -

In the past, there have been many instances of alliances using their timeouts to let their opponents repair their robot. This is still allowed, but the...

Re: The Robonauts 118 - 2015 Video

The humanoid robot in the background is Robonaut 2, or R2. An upper body very similar to the one you see in the video was launched to the International Space Station in February of 2011. The climbing...

Re: [Team Update] 2015-01-06 The Noodle Agreement

It seems like the best solution to de-incentiveize TNA is to make noodles scored in a can worth more relative to noodles scored on the floor. Right now, a successful agreement nets 40 points, and the...

Re: What's in a name? New Championship Divisions

My desire for field names:

- More Americans (I get jealous of the FTC fields)
- More women would be nice.
- Maybe an Engineer?

How about: Feynmann, Lovelace, Watt, Tesla?
Or: Sagan, Hypatia,...

I never understood hybrid mode as a concept - all we are doing is using a less efficient, ergonomic, and effective controller. Maybe the case can be made that it's an interesting challenge to program...
