Re: pic: VersaDrop GrassHopper Drive

When we did our h drive in recycle rush, we found the adjustment of down force on the center wheel critical to dial it in. I think another drop module connected to a dedicated pressure regulator...

Re: Is Welding Worth It?

We had problems in past with riveted joints coming loose over time. We have since switched to Avex 1661 series rivets in 5/32 and 3/16 sizes with proper sized drill bits that we keep stored in our...

Re: Waterjet vs. Manual Build Process?

I'm also interested in what you were able to use the X-carve for aluminum wise. Were any modifications made to it to get the accuracy you were looking for?

Re: Looking for Last Minute Fixes on a Possible "Comm" Error

We had a couple qual matches where we were dropping close to 100% of packets at times confirmed with the driver station logs. Most other matches, packet loss was very low. Interestingly enough, we...

Re: The REAL chokehold of 2016

Just park a robot on the middle batter so the defender can't get in place and low goal away.

Re: Is Defense Back in a Big (Bad) Way?

Since only one defender is allowed to guard thier castle, I think teamwork can help overcome this problem. But I agree with the comments about a rough game, the pits are going to be crazy busy this...

Re: Shooting Percentage for week 1

I'm been thinking of the following scenario's (basically breaking A into 3 categories):
1. Offensive robot drives onto batter with bumper or robot itself against opponents castle wall, defending...

Re: pic: 2559 Normality Zero 2016 Drive Train v1

What robot speed are you geared with the toughboxes? Looks like direct drive and 8in wheels which others have mentioned they had turning issues.

Re: Vex Pro 3 CIM Ball Shifter WCD 3rd Stage Kit with #35 Chain

We added half inch spacers and longer bolts to create the space for a double #35 sprocket.

Re: Brown out / breaker trips with Pneumatic Tires

Might consider swapping a WCP SS gearbox into the kit if you can afford it.

Re: StrongHold Pushing Match & T-Boning

I think that gear ratio with 8 inch wheels will stall the 3 cims and brown out. I'd suggest more ratio for pushing. See discussion in this thread of others faced with a similar...

Re: Sonic Shifter - recent feedback?

Hmm, we haven't had any problems at all after 2 regionals and 2 offseasons with our 2014 bot and our 3 cims ball shifters.

Re: pic: 3946 off-season strafe module, overhead view

Might be nice to mount a piece of 1x2 tube between the inner rails next to gearboxes and use the new VersaDrop module.

Re: pic: 1736 Robot Casserole Offseason WCD

This confirms my theory, 4 cims may be "safer" from a brownout, but that alone may not avoid a case of the brownout blues. Better to make sure you are traction limited or have some form power...

Re: pic: 1736 Robot Casserole Offseason WCD

I understand that 6 cims at stall is likely a problem. Has anyone confirmed we can stall 4 cims without being worried about a brownout?

Re: pic: 1736 Robot Casserole Offseason WCD

Plan is for a one piece bumper to slide on from the top. Still need to add a latch or two on the front and back.

And yes, we'll have a belly pan. I don't know the exact details as the electrical...

Re: pic: 1736 Robot Casserole Offseason WCD

I've estimated around 37 pounds as shown. If we drop back to 4 cims, that'll put us around 31 pounds. As for wheels, it's possible we may try blue nitrile, but the main concern is that the...
