Re: [FRC Blog] 2017 Early Release Vouchers and Software

I agree. Having a voucher is also better for teams who either miss the FC deadline or need control system components more than motor controllers.

Re: [FRC Blog] Downloadable Content (DLC) Pack 3 and Buttons

Wait, will we be allowed 4 drive team members + a coach (5 people) on the field?

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Choice 2017

I was looking through rules and it seems that Victor 884s have been legal since at least 2003. (I couldn't find anything for 2004 or prior to 2003. And 2017 hasn't been completely released yet.) 14...

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Choice 2017

FIRST Choice is giving me this:

{"Message":"The given key was not present in the dictionary."}

Any idea why?

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Choice 2017

This past season, I actually found that if you take the bearing portion out of a KOP pillow block bearing, the RSL will fit perfectly where the bearing was. You then use the screw part of the RSL to...

Re: Team fee survey

Our team charges no fee, mainly because we are from a public school.

But, now that we are planning to go to a second regional, which has extra costs associated with it, we are going to have students...

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Choice 2017

I would say that talons were understandable. What I'm surprised about is that the core control system components haven't been marked sold out yet.

Re: [FRC Blog] FIRST Choice 2017

Has the algorithm finished running? I see that some things are marked as out of stock, but not as much as I thought. The same things were marked last night when I checked.

Just wondering when we...

Any good 2016 Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals?

Found this (https://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139892) thread and thought we should have another one for this year.

Re: Minnesota High School Teams

For paying coaches and lettering, the MSHSL Robotics FAQ says those decisions are for the individual schools to make.

Re: SolidWorks scaling problems/SW Toolbox sprocket options

My screen is 3840x2160, and to run Solidworks in a way that I can actually read it, I have to cut the resolution in half (1920x1080) to use it in any useful way. I have heard that the 2016-17 version...

Re: FIRST website is an embarasment

What if FIRST uploads the website code to GitHub and makes it open-source so whenever someone has some free time they can help out. And GitHub already has the owners vet each commit before making it...

Re: 2016 Minnesota Robotics Invitational

Suggestion to FIRST for future seasons: if there is other data for each match than just the scores, let off-season FMS access that data.

Re: 2016 Minnesota Robotics Invitational

Just wondering, will the match results be uploaded to TBA? Or do we have to go rewatch the stream?

Re: 2016 Minnesota Robotics Invitational

Don't forget us! :) It was our first win ever too. Thank you again to 2052, 2987 and 4536 for choosing us as your backup. It was even more exciting when we were called in to play in Finals Match 2!

Re: pic: BEASTBot 2855's Sparky at the Como Park Sr Fall Pep Fest

I don't know the exact pressure, but I can say that we overinflated them (and voided the warranty).

We used the standard hubs that come with the drive base kit and large bolts (9/16" hex head) as...

Re: 2016 Minnesota Robotics Invitational

Also, there were no tiebreaker matches. All matchups were decided in 2 (other than the 3rd place matchup, which was a single match)

Re: [FRC Blog] Control System Update

Out of curiosity, how do the old d-links compare to the new radios in terms of range?

Re: pic: BEASTBot 2855's Sparky at the Como Park Sr Fall Pep Fest

This is correct. We got a lot of comments at our local week 0 event asking if we somehow used boulders as wheels.
