Re: 2017 Game Speculation
The FRC blog post regarding the not yet released teaser was mostly about science fiction innovations made reality. However, at the end of the post was this line:
Combining both of these, I think the...

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #605
"Hey guys, I finished the new sign with our team number on it!"
"...We already have 5 of those."
"Really? Where?"
"On the door."
"Oh. But it took forever to design this and cut it out with the water...

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #604
"Why is this thing in the library?"
"I thought maybe we can use it for some shooting practice."
"In the library?!"
"Yeah. I mean, we did put a 'Keep Out' sign on it. It'll be fine."

Re: Opinions of Q&A
For me and my team, I think it is definitely best to do stand scouting. Seeing how a team actually performs in a match is far more important than what they say they can do, regardless of the...

Re: Pnuematics Toggle Code Issue
My team has just switched over to Java from C++ this year, so I'm a little unsure of myself, but I think I know what your issue is. Using whileActive to toggle your solenoid will result in the...

Re: Team 1701 Field Scouting Sheet
We created a relatively similar sheet for this year's game. A few suggestions:
1. If you're already tracking successful and failed low and high goal shots, I feel the attempts column is...

Re: Humorous wit from the GDC
I'm not surprised it happened, but I'm also not really a fan of it. It was funny once, but it's an old joke now. Time to move on.

Re: Two joysticks
Tank drive is definitely the easiest drive train to program and is typically pretty effective. The most basic version would be to set the power of the left motor to the y position of the left...

Re: Humorous wit from the GDC
Well, you don't have to be the one wasting their time; someone else beat you to it. Take a look at this year's Chute Door: Sally Port (https://frc-qa.firstinspires.org/Question/718/sally-port). We...

Re: [FRC Blog] Our Mistake and Q612
I would like to apologize to Munchskull for the misinformation then. I used the game manual as my reference and in there it is listed as being 4.5 inches high. However, as you said, the field...

Re: Low bar boulder travel.
Heh, in the process of finding a possible rule violation in this idea I completely skipped over the main G40 rule. I see your point with having to complete a CROSSING to satisfy G40. If you're dead...

Re: Low bar boulder travel.
That is a very good point. It would be difficult to position a BOULDER close enough to the Low Bar for your robot to only have to reach 15 in or less to grab it. (Reference R3 for extension...

Re: Low bar boulder travel.
In terms of transferring a BOULDER into your opponent's COURTYARD, I believe it would be legal. However, it could potentially be seen as a violation of G40-1:
I'm not sure if your idea of a grabber...
