Re: Buying Batteries for Competition in Shanghai, China

I can confirm this as well. We used 3 last year on a dual pro and it was more than enough. Granted, Recycle Rush was not as demanding on batteries as Stronghold. However, with more teams competing...

Re: LAS VEGAS REGIONAL... terminated?

This.

Adding Ventura and losing Vegas would give western teams the same number of regionals as 2014, but the demand will be higher. Even with 6 regionals it's very difficult for a California team...

Re: FRC Blogged-Standard District Point Structure

Sean is 100% correct about the approach. Most people immediately think that ranking system is supposed to determine who the best overall team is. In reality that is irrelevant. The best teams will...

Re: How to wire unrealistically well?

We use an adhesive backed silicone sheet (McMaster P/N: 8622K41). We cut the sheet to the size of the cRIO and stick it on. You can do this to several cRIOs with one $38 sheet.

Another thing we do...

Re: FRC Blogged - Something New – FIRST Dean’s List Changes

This says it all. By the time a senior receives their Dean's List Award (March or April of their senior year), they're done with the college application process. By that point most of our kids have...

Re: Something New – Chairman’s Award Eligibility

I figure an interview team could see about 24 teams in a day (4 teams an hour * 6 hours). So events where less than 24 teams are applying will not have an issue. Remember, not every team applies for...

All second robot team numbers are...

Re: Something New – Chairman’s Award Eligibility

I think it does the exact opposite, actually. This actually helps advance the best Chairman's teams to the championship. In the past if you applied (and lost) at a "strong Chairman's regional" then...

Re: Andymark Performance Wheels: How Were They in 2013

We used 4" performance wheels, but never used the zip tie mounting method. We put our own hole pattern on the wheels and riveted tread on the entire season.
