Re: Looking for contacts related to STEM Facilities and Programs

If you plan on getting large machinery, make sure the shop is on the ground floor and there is easy access to it through double doors and wide hallways. Or preferably, it has direct access to the...

Re: How many days do your programmers get with a fully built robot before stop build

There are two types of practice bots that teams build: prototype bots and replica competition bots. Prototype bots are built first and then the lessons learned from them go into building the...

Re: Build season week 1

For us, the first 1.5 days or so is all about the rules. We spend most of kickoff just digesting the rules and then analyze what we think are the most valuable aspects of the game from a rules...

Re: CAN to PWM converter?

I'm guessing the main one is that a poorer team would not have to buy all new motor controllers if they wanted to connect everything with CAN

Re: Districts in Israel 2017 Announced

Throw the programmers (or freshmen with duct tape depending on the state of your robot) in the trailer with the robot for the ride between events. Problem solved. :D

Re: Districts in Israel 2017 Announced

It's interesting that some teams may have less than 24 hours between load out at one event and load in at the next (not to mention the field which will probably have around 12-15 hours).

Re: [FRC Blog] District Teams attending Regionals

I disagree that a team that wins Chairman's, regardless of where, has a weak Chairman's program.

Re: FIRST on "The Fosters" - Monday Nights on FreeForm 8e/5p Starting Tonight!

Wow. Just wow. Never did I think the mentor built robot debate would make it on to a tv show.

Re: pic: Its twins - prototype drives

How do you plan on connecting the two sides? We had a somewhat similar design this year and we needed a lot of reinforcement to keep the chassis from flexing.

Re: Constant Spam Threads

There definitely is a potential for abuse, but I don't think it would really actually happen. Most (not all) controversial posts are not the start of a thread, so I think the only case where we would...

This is one case where I really wish Andymark didn't listen to their customers so well.

Re: officers dragging a woman off the

Another possible way to at least hide the spam is if a post is reported by say 3 people (pick any number you like), it is then automatically hidden until a mod does something with it. You could also...

Re: FIRST 50 years ago / 50 years from now.

Edit: Scalable well.

According to the District Ranking Website there were 411 teams in MI this year and according to this website (http://high-schools.com/directory/mi/), there are about 1500 high...

Well, it's a little controversial, but we could require team numbers.

Re: Let's Talk About Your Team's Computers

I don't know the specs off the top of my head, but we have gotten our CAD workstations off of the Dell auction site.

Re: COR Robotics and Subzero T-Shirt Cannon!

You can also probably get a lot more shots by lowering the time the solenoid is open for when you don't need 100 feet. We had a 5 gal tank @ ~120 psi that fed through a regulator into a 1 gal tank @...

Re: How to get more students involved in business?

I would recommend doing as much during the preseason/postseason as possible and avoid build season. That way anyone who is interested in both doesn't feel that they have to choose. That is probably...

Re: How many off season events?

My team has only attended the Beantown Blitz the past few years, though I'm pretty sure we've been registered for like 3.

(P.S. You might want to add a poll to this thread)

Re: California District Proposal, Rev 2

What makes you say that? I know absolutely nothing about FIRST in California, so I'm genuinely curious why the South is incapable of Districts, even in 2 years.

Even if they don't outright admit it, I would be shocked if ANY of those troll accounts aren't second accounts.
