Re: VersaPlanetary Failures

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. Much appreciated.

The gearboxes could definitely use some more grease, so we'll make sure that's taken care of when putting these back together.

It looks...

Re: VersaPlanetary Failures

Whoops, looks like I accidentally deleted that info from my original post. I don't have a picture at the moment, but it's for a flywheel style shooter. We're using a single stage 3:1 drivenby a...

Re: 775 pro performance and break in

We're using 775pros with VersaPlaneteries in multiple places with no problem really (3:1, 30:1, and 100:1). The 3:1 goes into a 1:1.2 driving 4" AndyMark Stealth Wheels. At about 7k RPM (at the...

Re: 2015 Waitlist Spots

This is definitely the case. Teams offered a spot are immediately given "Registered" status. If they decline, they are removed.

From the email:

Logomotion Robot in Kaiser Permanente TV Ad?

I don't think I've seen any posts about this, but I was watching TV and spotted what looked a lot like a Logomotion (maybe Rack 'n' Roll) robot in a Kaiser Permanente ad:...

Re: Best Dual Speed Shifters?

They would be able to with custom made plates (or maybe you could put two in series, where the output from one is chain driven the second where the input is the output shaft; this would require lots...

Re: 2013 SVR

Field is so deep this year, it's hard to look at the match schedule and determine the outcome for a game.

So far things haven't gone as we'd like on the field. But we've been improving quite a bit -...

Re: CNC Plasma Cutting Chassis

Yes, but depending on the quality and calibration of your machine, you may have to have them be cut small and then drilled to size.

Re: CNC Plasma Cutting Chassis

Yep, we do a lot of stuff out of aluminum.

Not sure what system you have, and there are a lot of variables at play here, but what we've found is that it's better to run slower feed rates than...

Re: CalGames 2012: Info

Thanks for clearing that up. There must have been some miscommunication/misunderstanding. This makes much more sense than the impression I was under.

Re: Has anyone ever used a Computer Mouse to locate themselves on the field

Using accelerometers to yield position though would be fairly inaccurate. Integrating once to get velocity shouldn't be too bad, but the second integration won't be too accurate, especially...

Re: Has anyone ever used a Computer Mouse to locate themselves on the field

I know team 972 tried this before they merged with our team in 2008. IIRC, they used just a mechanical mouse, where they had the ball running against the ground. I don't think they had all too much...
