Re: Alteration to team roles

No I mean like this: on 1219 I mentored primarily mechanical and programming. With the proposed system, I would have to pick one of those instead of just saying "mentor." If the system had the option...

Re: Alteration to team roles

Re: What would we have done if swine flu hit during a regional?

That was the norovirus (aka Norwalk virus). Quite contagious, very unpleasant (vomiting, diaherrea, etc.), but not particularly dangerous if you drink plenty of fluids (usual caveats apply - can be...

Re: Lunacy Review

Likes:
- Different game surface switched things up a bit
- Less penalties. After last year, this was a huge breath of fresh air
- Game pieces looked interesting
- Lots of game pieces (I think its...

Re: Team 71's 2002 robot

They're kind of like the metal brushes you use to clean a grill. The name comes from their use - cleaning files.

Re: Match Schedule: Galileo

128 is pretty high, but still not up to the bar set by 71 and 1625... I guess we may just have to wait 'til IRI to see that one beat.

Re: Hardest Regional

I wouldn't say it isn't a regional, but I wouldn't really consider it for this discussion. Since you have to qualify to get in, its clearly going to be a 'stacked' event (unless Michigan teams are...

Re: 89 Cent Safety Glasses - Harbor Freight

All safety glasses are certified to be impact resistant. Generally, more expensive ones are just more comfortable, and might have special coatings (anti-scratch, anti-fogging, etc).

Re: pic: Who Am I? Alex Cormier

Alex, clearly that grue killed and ate you shortly after this photo was taken. How does it feel to be zombified? (and please remember your deoderant - rotting Cormier is not a pleasurable odor)

Re: Which OS?

I am curious, why can't you survive using Linux alone? Personally, I dual boot Vista and Fedora (+ E17). However, I almost never boot into Fedora because it has issues with my laptop's sound card....

Re: Which OS?

Unless you plan to game a lot, I would pick a Linux distro (Fedora, Ubuntu, Arch, whatever) and get the E17 desktop shell. Make the partition for Windows, then wait. If you end up needing Windows,...

Re: How Much Does it Cost to Run a Team?

Short Answer: If I was intending to do 2 regionals + champs, I probably wouldn't want to do it on a budget much less than $20,000.

Long Answer: To give a more accurate number, your team needs to...

Re: FIRST Game Survivor: Round 7

I (partially) disagree. 2002 was, in my opinion, boring. The gameplay was just too simplistic and repetitive. 2005 was really a coach's game - great for winning with strategy, but not the most...
