Re: pic: AIR Strike 78 Elevated in NH

Thanks guys! I loved watching the 78 robot climb. We didn't think of driving up the pole like that as even being an option. Blows me away at how simple and effective it is.

Re: pic: Gael Force 2010 Robot

Thanks Joe! Also, thanks for the detailed posting of the capabilities of FP motors. It was useful information to have while figuring out our eventual 3276:1 reduction for the lifter :)

Re: pic: Gael Force 2010 Playing Field

You don't miss a thing! We actually installed it about an hour after this picture was taken. It was one of the last modifications we did to the field.

Re: pic: Gael Force 2010 Playing Field

Yep! Good eye. We hang all of our old robots from the ceiling around the playing field & work area (aside from '92, which is in a trophy case).

Tis true. The mast in the center of the goals had retroreflective tape on them that played horrible games with pretty much any photographer using flash...

Re: Team 71's 2002 robot

Filecards are used to clean files, and have many small metal teeth/fingers. Try sticking one into a carpet sometime and pulling. Good luck moving it.

We (190) used them as well, but as anchors. ...

Re: Old FRC Game at BattleCry

Haha, I wasn't even on the team then. I'd be more inclined for a 126 vs 25 2000 Einstein rematch. :)

Re: Old FRC Game at BattleCry

Assuming we could possibly use new controls in an old robot, Gael Force could bring back 92-95 and 98-2000 (and up, as well, both who cares about the recent years ;) )

I vote 99 or 2000 though. ...

Re: Newton 09

I'm very excited to see the large spread of good, solid teams. We should see a decent number of powerful alliances battling it out in our elims.

Whoever makes it out alive to the big show is...

Re: 2009 High Scores

This is exactly how it'll work. Granted, nobody's perfect, so you might see a match here and there where it'll be +/- a ball, but for the most part we should now see accurate scores.

However, the...

Re: 2009 BAE Granite State Regional

Hey guys,
I've been reading and listening to a lot of people's frustrations about how the past 3 days went. As someone who was physically on the field working, I share your frustration and feel your...

Gael Force Field Usage

Hey teams,
Nypro has once again been generous enough to allow us to use a large section of warehouse space and we're currently building a full-sized playing field. We currently have the carpet and...

Re: Does the FRP material go over the carpet?

From what I saw while walking on it at SNHU, it looked like the FRP was directly on the carpet. However, we didn't want to ruin our new carpet (bought it last year to replace the carpet that was...

Re: Securing gears on shafts

If you are going to Loctite it (which I recommend) try to use the blue variety. It'll hold, but you can get it off later in the heat of battle without working too hard. The red will just cause...

When you're going to buy materials and components, it often helps to call in and talk to an actual person. While you're asking for quotes and placing your order, tell them about who you represent...

Re: Pneumatic Muscles: for good or for awesome?

I've played around with these at work a few times when we've had vendors in trying to sell them to us. They're pricey, but quite awesome.
