Re: YMTC: How Open Is Redateam's Fix-it Window

I would venture to say legal.

They spent only 6+ hours working on the bot, the rest of the time was spent doing maintenance on their shop. The way I see it, the spirit of FIRST would not be...

Re: Saftey Glasses

Just because people use them doesn't mean they are legal. I believe it also varies a bit from event to event, with VCU having made its own rules last year, I think it was along the lines of if I...

Hugbot? Very nice, I especially like the blue. Did you paint it or did it come blue?

Re: Where did all the magic smoke go?

we avoided the FP motors purely b/c we are highly allergic to anything related to magic: unicorns, pixies, smoke. So far, so good.

We did have some close brushes with potentially magical smoke...

Re: pic: lol pigs?

I like but it is probably not going to catch on like the lolcats, pigs just aren't quite as cute or readily available to photograph.:D

Re: Bomb Squad's 2008 Robot

I checked the rules, nothing about leaning but there is a potential problem with bumpers, seeing as how they must cover 2/3 of the perimeter and must not be moved out of the bumper zone at all during...

Re: The Ultimate in Build Season Dedication

Sorry to hear about your friend, at least they got it in time to rectify the problem. That is some serious dedication. 2186 will be praying for him.

Re: Cordura Covering Question (Bumpers)

I would venture to say they are not legal.

Handholds on the bot are nice but bumpers are required and the only acceptable design for standard bumpers is the one FIRST displays in the manual, a point...

Re: quick question to all about why using KOP metal.

Wow, interesting thread.

We used the KOP last year and had good results. It survived being run full speed into the opposite wall during every match, our programmers are still puzzled.

Why do...
