Re: Pockets on Women's Pants

The war on women's pockets has driven me crazy my whole life. I'll admit I have a minority view on fashion, but I wish our society would prioritize comfort and function over whatever is "in" this...

Re: Tips for new 'Head of Electronics'

Tug test all your crimps. Make sure the red and yellow fuses in the PDB are fully seated. Make sure the electronics are covered when someone is filing or cutting metal in the robot -- swarf is the...

Re: Poll: Inspire Blog

The URL for the new FIRST website isn't country specific. This is good.

The website is pretty. Also good, but not really a priority for me.

I have a hard time finding the things I'm looking for...

Re: Submission Award Definitions - Thoughts? Feedback?

I agree that it was helpful to have clear terminology definitions. It really helped in submission preparation to accurately describe what we had done, knowing the judges would be defining terms the...

Re: Fire at Michigan State Champs

My assumption is that the early poking around near the fire was an attempt to find and hit the main breaker, which is usually the first line of defense before they go to the extinguishers. Even when...

Re: Please take this survey!!!

When you say "Regional 1st pick", do you mean first round, or just the first selection of the 1 seed captain?

Re: COMM lost way to many times

Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (http://www.isixsigma.com/dictionary/dfmea/). It's a Six-Sigma process that has you go through the system listing all the things that could go wrong, how bad...

Re: Confused about semifinalists/finalists/winners for Dean's List and Woodie Flowers

I've only actually experienced the regional model, so my comments on districts are purely from my reading of the admin manual. From what Mr. V is describing, and from what you've described, it...

Re: Confused about semifinalists/finalists/winners for Dean's List and Woodie Flowers

Dean's List: As soon as you submit your nomination, your student is a Dean's List Semi-Finalist. I'm guessing your district event listed off the Semi-Finalists, because I don't see anything...

Re: Autonomous Help

In your second frame of your sequence, you don't actually tell the wedge arm motor to stop. You need to set output to 0 for that device for it to stop, otherwise it just keeps doing the last thing...

Re: The Triple Tortuga is Contest born.

Re: Attn: Present & Future College Students, Think carefully before you mentor

Find a geographically convenient event that's during your spring break and volunteer. That gets you a couple of days of immersion, but doesn't eat up so much time it affects your grades.

Re: Week 1 statistics

I've found that the TBA data has a tendency to not record defense type for position 3 in the first match. They have a few other data glitches, but that's the most common one.

Re: Average of Defense Crossings- Week 0.5-1
