Re: Michigan State Championship

Congrats! You guys were a blast to play alongside at Howell, and it wouldn't be the same without y'all!

I'm surprised we qualified (my college roommate and I had predicted 80 points would be the...

Re: Week 3 analysis

At least in the Michigan Districts, the penalties are down immensely. Average Tele-op score per team by the end of the Howell district was something like 273 compared to 430 at Southfield. I assure...

Re: 2014 Howell District

Congrats to all the teams at Howell. It was an exciting day and I'm gonna be stitching my lungs back together for days after all that screaming. I want to specifically call out our alliance partners...

Re: 2014 Howell District

Would also throw on 4362 (GEM robotics) as another solid contender.

This competition is very exciting. I've been monitoring average Tele-op, Auton, Assist, Truss&Catch scores for all the Michigan...

Re: 2014 Howell District

I didn't have a chance to watch GL or Kettering, but one tactic that I thought was particularly good from the Centerline district was when one team took the ball, trussed it to another team, and that...

Re: Week 1 Analysis

Anyone have any clue what happened in Alliance 2 vs Alliance 6 semis at Centerline? It originally said that Alliance 2 had won, then there were two more matches played and Alliance 6 won each...

Re: Michigan State Championship Streaming

Just one more day! I can hardly wait. Good luck to all of the teams competing, and hope you all kick bot in the coming days!

Re: Full court shooting strategy

This works phenomenally against rookie teams and for the first half of the competition or so. By that point, even at Detroit where a quarter of the teams were rookies, almost all bots had installed...

Re: Upside down Frisbees; can your team get them out?

We had a lot of trouble with that our first district and a half. Halfway through Detroit though we added a clear plastic (lexan?) sheet in between our hangers to help block cross-courters, and we...

Re: Some thoughts on rules, refs, and ranking

Just attended the Detroit district. Refs seemed pretty good about the rules and in general seemed to err on the side of leniency in borderline cases (which honestly felt right. Winning by penalty is...

Re: The Bedford Express 1023 crash- in GIF form!

Thankee

And I know. That was the closest anyone got in the qualifying matches to stopping 469. Well played! I'm assuming your next competition will be the Bedford district?

Re: Team 1676 Petition For a FIRST Robotics U.S. Postal Stamp

I'll send this thread along to my former teammates as soon as I can find our team captain's e-mail. Until then, signed!

Re: The Bedford Express 1023 crash- in GIF form!

The biggest gimp would be that you could really only feasibly dump with one of the bots (try dumping too many, and there will be overflow). As for the difficulties of multi-climbing, I'd say the...

Re: Understanding FiM State Qualification

The other thing to keep in mind was that 910 was the last pick for the winning alliance, so the points for that weren't actually as high as one would imagine they would be (it's 24 points, but they...

Re: The Bedford Express 1023 crash- in GIF form!

I stand by my prediction that at globals there will be at least one alliance that is just 3 30 point climbers with solid autons. You won't beat everyone, but that's a nice chunk of points!

Re: Predictions Week 3: Creating Flow

You guys were a blast to play against, and made for a trio of great nailbiters in the semis! Fun times!

Having been a part of/worked with 1189 for 5 years now, I can't even begin to say how...

Re: The Bedford Express 1023 crash- in GIF form!

Not gonna lie, that was terrifying to watch. When it started smoking after it hit the ground, everyone on my team thought that the battery had ruptured. You guys really bounced back well though....

Re: Understanding FiM State Qualification

That confuses me though, as my former team (1189), is currently highlighted despite only making it to semifinals at highest, and only winning two spirit awards.

Understanding FiM State Qualification

I was looking at the FiM results and rankings spreadsheet (found at firstinmichgian.org (http://www.firstinmichigan.org/FRC_2013/frc_2013_season.html)), and had a question. Some teams are shaded...

Re: 2013 Kettering District Event

Anyone know if the award winners have been posted somewhere? I couldn't find them on the FiM site.
