Re: Follow up: Class of 2016, Where are you going?

Plan on taking masters in mechanical engineering at Kettering University in MI. I'm very interested in taking an additional degree (such as aerospace engineering or computer science), be it at...

Re: The most epic matches of all time

I swear, people were cheering more loudly for this than the finals matches. It was such a massive upset.

Re: A Day on Einstein

The funny thing is that I just learned quite a bit from that info dump :D Thank you for that!

Also, congratulations on your team's ability to adapt and learn so well!

Re: Stronghold rant...

This! I hated how one moment I'm checking the status of one team's tower, and have to take a double take for counting, and am now 2-3 seconds behind in scores for the match.

I'm guessing the...

SolidWorks - CPU Clock vs Core Count

A loooooong time ago when the X99 boards were released, I jumped on an MSI X99S-SLI PLUS for Christmas. I didn't know anything about what I wanted CPU-wise beyond that it was going to be a '5820k or...

Re: MI is the best?

As mentioned, what makes the FiM district so great is the depth. Obviously, there are many elite teams, but with a district the size and age of Michigan, it's hard not to find a successful or...

Re: What will FRC 2016 Stronghold be remembered by?

Our team went with the RhinoTreads this year, and if I were to do it all over again, I would definitely go with a pneumatic wheel base. The treads caused too many compatibility and reliability issues...

Re: Training Season

Our plan for offseason is to get middle schoolers and underclassmen involved via a summer camp, where we plan to build a 2013 Ultimate Ascent bot from scratch, after going through the basics.

Re: What will FRC 2016 Stronghold be remembered by?

This. I could(n't) believe how many favorites were knocked out so early. Especially (610/973/319/2474), (1114/27/20), with Newton alliances (118/1519/3309/1519), (16/2614/4001), (67/5172/1477), and...

Re: Should match 1 on Einstein be replayed?

That is true, and I do agree with the replay. Luckily, the losing alliance didn't lose by a horrific amount of points ;)

If Newton loses after the reset, I can guarantee salt.

Re: "Quotes" that were said during build season

P1: "What was 217 called again? ...The Lightning Ducks?"
P2: "I feel like 33, the... 'Friendly Hornets', are going to win."

Re: Different Drivetrains

That's some interesting information. On my way to redesigning my concept drivetrain due to this; Thank you! (is it ok to mention that I repped?)

Re: Different Drivetrains

That stinks. Very few teams powdercoat their chassis, and it's a shame that yours couldn't be displayed in-comp. Performance over looks anyway, right?

It's a shame you guys couldn't make it to St....

Re: Different Drivetrains

It looks to be 3 pneumatic wheels, two bidirectional and one omnidirectional, similar to a swerve drive. I wonder how it would perform with two omnidirectional wheels on the front instead of one (eg....

Re: Different Drivetrains

That's a rather interesting drivetrain.

Did your bot turn easily with the grippy wheels in the center? Did it move quickly? Did you have to worry about the omnis taking the force of hitting the...

Re: Team 987 - 2016 highlight video

At the end of the video, it was definitely people lifting it up, you could see them on both sides of the camera.

From what I saw, the belt for their climber hasn't been used on the field.

But I...
