Re: (NOT SPAM) Nintendo NES Classic giveaway presented by Two Pencil Designs!

Upon reflection... If there's a backstory here that I am not aware of - like this company or its principals being among those funding the site, for instance - then I retract my comments, and...

Re: (NOT SPAM) Nintendo NES Classic giveaway presented by Two Pencil Designs!

The fact that you "have been here since 2003" and are a legitimate business does not preclude your post from being spam. You are sending an unsolicited and unpaid advertisement to a large number of...

Re: (NOT SPAM) Nintendo NES Classic giveaway presented by Two Pencil Designs!

I don't know about anyone else, but when I choose to visit Chief Delphi, it's because I know I can come here and either browse and learn learn something of value, or pose a...

Re: (NOT SPAM) Nintendo NES Classic giveaway presented by Two Pencil Designs!

Re: (NOT SPAM) Nintendo NES Classic giveaway presented by Two Pencil Designs!

The phrase "(NOT SPAM)" does not necessarily make it not spam. Seems spammish to me, on this, a technical forum.

Re: Automation Direct Solenoid Cables

You do not need to buy anything else besides the solenoids. The accessory cables are quite big and clunky anyway - good for industrial applications but not suitable for robots.

Re: Designing with sensors

We used PVC tubing for a U-shaped pickup mechanism in 2014, chosen for its flexibility, so that the arms could spread around the 2' diameter game pieces. The problem was that because it flexed, the...

Re: Exhaust in Solenoids

I'm not sure whether you are wanting to power the cylinder action in just one or both directions, so I wonder if you are using a 4-way valve when you need a 3-way valve?

One of the best...

Re: STEAM Actually comming to FRC, and im not happy

Art has always been a part of FIRST; it's an important part of marketing the Team. Art is evident in T-shirts, banners, logos, buttons, costumes and dance.

It also serves a wider purpose, putting...

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

Yep. I get it that many teams build two robots to get around the time limit. I get it that many will show up with 29.9 lbs. of improvements at every competition.

Did you take more than 10 seconds to...

Re: paper: Stop the Stop Build

I oppose the elimination of Stop Build Day for two reasons:

1) One of the many benefits of FRC that I have touted is that kids are given a nearly impossible deadline of six weeks in which a robot...

Re: Are Steampunk Goggles Safe?

I was told once by the pit safety glasses police - when I wore my reflective lens safety goggles to an event - that protective lenses must allow other folks to see your eyes. Though I was at first...

Re: FRC Robots Aren't Real Robots?

1) Autonomous mode, is most certainly "robotic".

2) An activity based on an entire match of autonomous mode without the hands-on excitement and interpersonal communication of tele-op would attract -...

Re: How do you fund your big machinery purchases?

We found our bandsaw on Craigslist for $40. We keep looking for laser cutters and waterjets in that price range, but so far no luck.
