Re: Feed-forward coefficient for motion-constrained system

Thanks to all. Just the kind of input I was hoping for. Very useful. We'll be working this next week at practice.

Feed-forward coefficient for motion-constrained system

I am interested in techniques used to calculate the F coefficient when you have a system you can't run at full speed or constant speed for very long (like you can a drive system). An arm or a lift...

Re: LabVIEW Version Control

Similar to what Greg suggested in his post, the same can be done using SVN for version control. Both GIT and SVN will do the job for you. The decision will be dependent on which tool some of your...

Re: Future FRC Technologies?

Stepper motors. The most common robot technology I can think of that we are not introducing to our students.

Re: Electrical connectors on control system items

I don't favor JST connectors. They are fine connectors, I don't hate them as others seem to, but they are difficult for a team to fabricate because the crimpers made for them are outrageously...

Re: Programming Team Website

We have used Unfuddle.com for several years now. It provides our SVN repository for version control of code and documentation, a ticket system for task/work allocation, milestones to track tickets...

Re: How many days do your programmers get with a fully built robot before stop build

We typically have 3-5 days before bag day where the robot is essentially complete. We have an open house the Sunday before bag day for sponsors, parents, and community so it needs to be working....

Re: Selecting Autonomous with TI LaunchPad?

Is there a document somewhere that captures this, and similar, system design information?

Re: Analog Devices

And I know many teams will not use an item if they can get only one. I certainly won't go to competition without a spare.

Re: IR vs LiDAR for distance sensing?

We have done work with both of those sensors you linked to. HVA 3824 used the Lidar on their bot this year and had good experience with it. We used that long range IR sensor for part of the season,...

Re: Got Sensor Fusion?

I'm looking for any reports of how this device has worked in competition. Does it work as expected? Is it reliable? Any problems?

Re: Restart Robot Code at competition

We have this situation happening repeatedly. I also expect a race condition between code settings and camera boot.

We were restarting robot code before every match towards the end of SMT. We could...

Re: Gamma Too High On Camera

You can use the camera setting VIs. If you look in the vision VI, you will see a string of setting VIs. Set your exposure to zero. Beware that this sometimes behaves flaky, though. Our experience is...

Re: Toggle Between Two Cameras in Vision Processing

Which model Logitech cams seem to work with this? We have been having a couple flakey results with the Lifecams:

1. Exposure setting VI. Zero sets image pretty dark (but seems workable), 1-100...

Re: How to easily find customized "standard" VI's?

Well temporarily the problem was solved...we had to remove the second camera to save weight.:)

We may resort to moving the files. Our concern is that if there is another update, it will end up...

Re: How to easily find customized "standard" VI's?

Thanks, we've been looking through them, but so far we haven't found it(them) yet.

In an effort to focus on the important (and maybe learn something in the process) are there more or less likely...

How to easily find customized "standard" VI's?

In order to get 2 cameras working in labview this year, we had to modify several standard VIs. We tried to make sure that each time we edited a library or standard VI, we saved it with a new name in...

Re: Using PID with Talon SRX and Mag Encoder

Since you have read the manuals, I will try to tie it all together for you as best I can. Ignore motion profile. It would be an advanced approach.

In brief terms, setting the brake on the talons...

Re: TalonSRX uses encoder when not in Voltage mode

Which voltage control mode are you in? Percent VBus or Voltage Compensation?

You may have some soft limits set on this talon. They are elephants and never forget. So if someone set limits a long...

Re: Implementing Feedforward/Feedback Motion Profile with Talon SRX

Re: Lidar-Lite Help Please

Hmm..not sure what it could be. I think we wired the same as you are. We wired to the main I2C port on the RIO except for power which we wired to a 5V pin on DIO. We didn't add pull-up resistors or...

In our Marvin T code release, we have logging VIs that you can use. We log all kinds of data in that code. Look in periodic tasks to find examples you can use. We log many files at once on that...
