Re: minibot battery

Yes, agree with you, Al: 12 vdc, 3,000mA. But some teams gobbled onto the word "identical" in rules and when you look up the Tetrix battery it is currently in the black wrapper. Too much and to...

Re: minibot battery

Agree; however, when you read the rule then look at Team Update 5, it is pretty clear the only allowable battery is the...

Re: minibot battery

Correction: I followed the link from my download folder, which shows this was clearly posted in the forum section on the FIRST site. I have either lost my mind or it was never there because I can no...

Re: minibot battery

I saw Al's response as well; thank you. I don't remember having this sent to me. However, my download folder says I pulled this down on the 11th of March. It was posted by Frank Merrick. I...

Please see page 67. I believe you will find an answer there as well as other places in the official GDC consolidated response to questions.

Please also see Update 5. In addition, some teams came...

Re: What Contributes the Most to a Team's Success?

I agree with all the choices, but would say a balance between collaboration and participation by all team members, students and mentors is something that will sustain a team year-in and year-out.

Re: Battery Chargers

This is last year's rule below (which seems to be missing this year)

<R41> An automatic battery charger rated for a maximum of 6 amperes must be used to charge the supplied batteries. When...

Re: clarification of rule <R44> on the "The Robot" section

Agree with Mike and Al. Having the board easily accessible is to your advantage, as well. You never know when you will need to check the board, breakers, or tighten something. Always good to be...

Re: Battery problem

I stand corrected: you are right. To say, however, "And unknowingly is not very professional" is arrogant considering how much rules are discussed, misunderstood, and debated every year, including on...

Re: Mentor recruiting help needed

Bring robots, students, and video of the final match from the 2006 World Championships. If that video does not generate interest and mentor participation, I would be stunned.

Re: Pneumatic Scorers

Thanks, Kapolavery for the kind words. To answer your question, no, there were no jamming problems. However, twice Moon Rocks did get stuck over a shooter due to broken Moon Rocks and the shooter...

Re: Memorable Moments

Watching 188 roll back their hood and shoot a Super Cell plus one Moon Rock over a defending robot and put both shots into their trailer.

Gotta love the out of the box thinking on that one!

Re: 2009 Las Vegas Regional

WOW! What a regional! This is taking awhile to decompress from. There were many honors to go around, however.

What an honor to be aligned with the 2007 World Champions, 987. Your combination of...

Re: Great Human Player in 2009

Yes, the outpost player for 1013 has my vote, too. Check out the finals on the Blue Alliance site for Vegas. She shot left-handed, right-handed, both handed, on the fly, and was incredibly...

Re: pic: BeachBot Pseudo-Crab drive, partially assembled

The only rule that seems to apply is R6. Since the wheels can only be rotating in the direction 330 will be moving, no problem.

330 has proven once again why they are a perennial powerhouse: out...

Re: Galileo Division 2008

On the other hand, with all the penalties this year and so many matches decided by penalties, a team playing too much defense may have wished for more offense after the score was posted as a buffer...
