Re: Why Do You FIRST?

Re: 1885's prototype...first version
I would suggest adding a weight box to bring it up to competition weight of 150 lbs with bumpers added so they get used to size. Then test with different motor configurations while driver training....

Re: Elevator Design Questions
We have used both wire cable and Spectra cord in our elevators, with dual reels so it is powered both in and out. We have found the Spectra cord to be superior in that it allows small radius (1/4")...

Re: Attaching Tread on Vex Traction Wheels
When we use traction material on our wheels, we use "Shoe Goop" as the adhesive we sand the mating surfaces and clean with alcohol to remove oil and dust. We make up sheet metal clamps out of soft...

With no lubrication, and aluminum in contact with steel, wear would be expected. Most teams concerned about weight use aluminum, and will easily last a competition season. How did the other sprockets...

Re: Shaft slop help?
Cold-finished steel probably would have a better size tolerance. Your "wobble" is compounded not only by bearings, but the fit in the wheel hub. Vex aluminum shafting has a really good fit, and we...
