Re: Team 1717 retires
Though a FIRST team's primary objectives can differ from an organization with which they are heavily integrated, it seems to me that the FIRST teams who have fully embraced the inspiration aspect...

Re: Team 2601: Raptor
Cool looking bot. Very simple, but effective.
Not sure I'd feel too safe with that battery mount though.

Re: The New Endgame
Having never really understood a casual viewer's perspective, I think the endgame adds a lot to strategy and to the excitement of the game.
The best mix between keeping the game like a spectator...

Here was a little 2079 project from Luncay. Unfortunately the swerve drive wasn't as effective as we wanted it to be, but the machining is pretty...

Re: Custom wheel making
I agree entirely as well, but if you have the resources readily available, it can be cheaper to make your own wheels.
In 2008, 2079 needed leather treaded wheels (torque miscalculation required...

Well, if it's really a spectator sport with avid fans, you don't sit at all. Most sports I attend are on the college level, but at The University of Virginia basketball and football games you never...

Re: The 6 Week Build Season and 'Mentor Burnout'
It's possible to do this now even with the with-holding allowance. You don't need to take your robot home in order to do it. In 2011, my old team (2079) built an elevator that didn't run smoothly and...

Re: Teams breaking the game
190 had a "breaking the game" strategy is 2008, where instead of driving around the track with the track balls, they would move to the side of one lane, pickup a ball, swing it around the center...

Re: Best Matches Of All Time
Any of the three Einstein matches in 2008 between 1114, 217, 148 vs. 233, 968, 60. Those matches were epic. I still watch them quite often for entertainment.

Re: Best Teams Not at Champs-2013
I definitely agree about 2791, and it wasn't just this year, but last year too. The past two years combined they may very well be the best team in the country without a regional victory.

I too would like some video evidence.
And just curious, are you trolling?
Around the CD community this is basically verbatim to what is typically regarded as the stereotypical troll post.

Re: 2012 FRC Team 1717 Uncut
This robot simply amazes me. The accuracy and precision of the shooter is incredible. The pivoting around a wheel, and rotating while moving is just amazing to me.
