Team 997 has participated, their entry can be found here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=EwZ-WH1DiqQ). The students certainly had fun with it!

I'm loving the variety in entries so far this year!

I've made a playlist of all of the ones I could find on YouTube so far. You can find that list here!...

Re: FRC Blogged - More Award Updates, FIRST Choice, and a New FRC Xbox Game!

This news has sent at least one of my students into a sort of depression - he's a senior that is the captain of the animation subteam. He doesn't have any experience with anything else. He now fears...

Re: 3DS MAX Help spot

Hmm. Does anyone have any good resources or advice regarding rigging models?

Re: What's up with the safety animation?

My team is using the Safety Animation as a 'practice round' before the main competition. It's a great chance to try out the software and make sure that everyone knows what they're doing before build...

Re: How did you findout about/became involved with in FIRST?

I first heard about FIRST in middle school. Well, kind of. I knew that my middle school had a LEGO Robotics team, and I knew it was connected to the science club (which I was in), but I didn't really...

Re: where is the iiko model ?

Are you using the Maya rig? I seem to recall briefly looking at the two different files for comparison, and the Maya rig is set up as a biped as opposed to CAT. Which makes sense as Maya can't make...

Re: Excellence in Design 3d Animation 2012 - that's a wrap!

Congrats to the finalists, and congrats to everyone else too! It's pretty easy to see that teams took advantage of the extra time and made some really great entries. I look forward to next year...

Re: Student presidents

I was the president of my team for a while. Though it varied year to year, the main duties were mainly non-technical things.

For example, I sent emails, made sure everyone knew when/where the...

Re: Animation "second regional"?

I know that my team was planning on updating ours anyways. Time management is also one of our problems, heh. I don't really know when the students are going to have much time to pull it together...

Re: Excellence in Design Awards, sponsored by Autodesk 2012

Ahhh the suspense is killing me!

Re: Size of your teams?

Haha. My first year doing animation, I did it all alone. My second year the animation team doubled - I got a freshman to help me. This year we once again doubled the animation team, we now have four...

Re: where is the iiko model ?

Oh wow, thanks. I... I completely missed that possibility XD I made a walk cycle right after I figured out the keyframes and still didn't catch that I could just move it by moving the hips and feet....

Re: where is the iiko model ?

I've been trying to avoid putting it as a biped thus far into the process. I've figured out how to key frame it by adding an animation layer, but when I do that the movement controller on the bottom...

Re: 3D Animation Toolkit is up! (iiko model, backstory, tips, etc.)

I'm currently debating whether keeping to the Iiko mythology as proposed by Autodesk is worth revising my team's work over. We have some really neat concept work, and I'm reluctant to give it up at...

Re: "Quotes" that were said during build season

I was trying to explain the scoring/seeding/coopertition point system to an English friend of mine. He enjoys sarcasm and complicating things.

'So, that's Sinx where x is <30 points to you, but...

Re: pic: The sides of our crate.

Haha. Wow. Though this is from 2003, and it's 2010 now, the fact that team members still make the occasional reference to Rejected show that not much has changed.

Edit: Holy cow. Just realized that...

Re: "Quotes" that were said during build season
