Re: 2009 Connecticut Regional
Our first match was pretty stacked too (match 6, 121/1100/1124 vs. 2168/558/2497), though it didn't have all low numbers. Technically, at this regional, 1100 and 1124 were in the upper half of...

Re: Should a programmer be a driver too?
I'm programmer, operator, and I designed the scouting system/often have to go fix it when somebody does something weird. It is good - I know exactly what to change in the code when I get back to the...

Re: 2009 Connecticut Regional
Will there be power in the stands (can we set up scouting laptops there)?
And/or can we set up a local wifi connection? I know we couldn't at Boston, but some regionals have allowed it.

Re: pic: Team 1100 - Robot '09
You can also see it snaking up the side of our robot, holding electrical stuff in place. We discovered (I'm not sure how) that cutting the tube gave it properties like other materials used to wrap...

Re: Best Ways To Scout
My experience, I think both scouting in the pits and on the field is important. From the pit, talking to the teams, you can find out a lot about the robot. You can tell if they are doing what they...

Scouting at Connecticut
Team 1100 would be love it if another team would join forces with us to scout at Connecticut. Just post here, or email me at plooshiska@gmail.com.
If you want to know about our scouting system,...

Scouting - Join forces at Boston
Team 1100 has a scouting system that we tried out at Manchester, where it worked pretty well. We've made some changes, and now it should work even better at Boston. We will have a server set up, so...

Re: Use Velcro on your Control Board!!
Our controller went flying once too. It never hit the ground, being held up by the competition port, but it was DEFINITELY a surprise. We had been warned ahead of time that if it was disoriented by...

Re: What do you think of the design of the game?
I like it.
It provides a big challenge (hurdling a heavy, slippery, BIG ball over a 6.5ft high, 3ft wide overpass) for veteran teams to try, while at the same time giving rookie teams a challenge...

Tipped robots are annoying to everyone, although they may or may not benefit your alliance.

Re: Did anyone else see it this way?
Watching from the stands, my immediate reaction was that 177 should have been called for a penalty. That was only in the heat of the match, though. Almost immediately afterwards, I thought about it...

Re: Standing Up During Competition...
I know standing for your team the entire match is fun.
I know how annoying it is to have someone in front of you stand the entire match.
But depending on which side you are placed on and what the...
