Re: Lesson Learned 2016 - The Negative

I was disappointed to see that the Championship Chairman's Award was presented yet again after a long delay at a different part of the arena. If it truly is the most prestigious award in FIRST, I...

Re: FRC Events vs TBA APIs

I have been using the TBA API for small projects for the last three years. It is extremely stable and I have yet to see it go down during times with heavy load (see the FIRST API last season). In...

Re: Organizing your programming

Git is terrible; use git.

The learning curve may be steep, but there is not much that you really need to know to use git effectively. Once you start using git for a bit, it becomes really useful. We...

Re: Congrats to this year's champions: 330 2481 120 1086

330 unflipping itself twice to make it to the finals has to be one of the most memorable events in Einstein history.

Re: 2016 Einstein

I wonder what their strategy was to improve them.

On a more serious note, I have been loving the Einstein presentation so far. Having all of the teams walk onto the floor with their standards was...

Last chance for almost certainly wrong predictions?

Win probabilities:
QF - Newton vs Hopper (Newton 0.599)
QF - Galileo vs Carson (Galileo 0.691)
QF - Curie vs Carver (Carver 0.886)
QF - Archimedes...

Re: 2016 Newton Subdivision

Before today, all four robots on the winning alliance had only one event win between them. Now they have a decent shot at winning on Einstein.

Re: 2016 Pre-Champs ELO Ratings

I have been developing my own Elo rating system for FRC over the past few years. The way it works differs from the one in this post enough that I thought it might by interesting to compare.

The data...

Re: [FiM] Michigan State Championship Preview

This kind of backhanded compliment is not in the spirit of gracious professionalism and rather disappointing to see. Whether or not the defense was legal or justified is up to the discretion of the...

Here are my own...
