Re: Dream Alliance of Stronghold

Other teams'd have to have some pretty terrible scouts to let this happen... ;)

Re: Dream Alliance of Stronghold

IMO it'd have to be 971/195/254.

Together, they have a shot at pulling off 2 2-ball autos, all 3 can scale, and teleop high goal scoring is absolutely unreasonable.

EDIT: Other Honorable Mentions...

Re: New York City Regional Location and Week Change

And let's not forget less teams often means more qual matches for each team.
Last year I have to say I enjoyed Tech Valley more than I did New York largely because with less teams, we ended up...

Re: New York City Regional Location and Week Change

As an ex-track team member I've been to and trained at the armory many many times. I think moving the regional there is definitely a positive.

The seating is more elevated overall so it should be...

Re: Build Season Schedule Questions?

We're 4:00-7:00 every weekday (in theory). In practice, during the last couple build season weeks, we start to push to 7:30... then 8:00... 8:45... etc.

(Note: Because of build space constraints, on...

Re: Best Event Giveaways

T-shirts.

Seriously, Cooler Master t-shirts would be cool. Just as long as the cloth is soft and the shirt design itself is reasonably colorful/interesting, I think people would like this idea (I...

Re: Favorite Team Moments

My favorite 3419 memory from this season would definitely have to be upsetting alliance 3 as alliance 6 on Carver this year.

I think alliance 3 were definitely the favorites going into Carver...

Re: Crazy idea to fight spam

This seems like one of the more practical anti-spam solutions, so kudos!

I'm just worried about casting a net that's too tightly-woven, and accidentally knocking out some legitimate threads along...

Re: Best in your State/Region

This is a really good list I think, good enough that I don't think it's necessary to post my own since it matches up 90%+. Your team's been doing an amazing job the past few seasons, and your work...

Re: Idea to Balance Championship Divisions

Just wanted to say I find it a little strange that the OP placed DCMP Winner Second Pick/Backup in Category II while he put Regional Winner Second Pick/Backup in Category V. I understand that...

Re: POLL: Friday-Sunday events vs Thursday-Saturday events

Not worth it. Too inconvenient for the students, and it makes the events almost entirely non-conducive to spectators coming and watching. May also make it harder to find college-student volunteers...

Re: Looking for District Naysayers

In this same vein, I'd think international teams would have the most trouble if FIRST converted large-scale to the district system. I think you could certainly find some good anti-district arguments...

Re: Value & Credibility of 4th robots on an Alliance

I'd disagree with it. For one thing, it restrict's the alliance's capacity for strategy.
And for another thing, while it's true that the 4th robot can often bring something new and valuable to an...

(SF) 4: 2869, 5123
(SF) 5: 335, 1880 (I think)

Re: prototypes

We do our best to have a rough idea of the design by day 3 or 4 (for example, by day 4 of this year's build season, we'd agreed on a low bar robot with a pneumatic swerve drive, active intake, and...

Re: Your favorite robot of all time?

Oh, shoot, I just realized I forgot 1325 from 2015. It made watching recycle rush fun(ner).

Also going to bring up 987 this year, which I think may be the only robot for me that competes with 971 in...
